Using AHK doesn't seem like an ideal solution either because it'll mess up typing in the chat box. I may be able to add keybind profiles to Freelancer with something I'm working on.
Hello! Do you have a numpad? numpads are how I usually try to fly caps(sometimes fighters winkwink) I just keep the same load out. and move it over to numpad. IE
8 - turnup
4 -left
6 -right
2 -down
+ -thrust
3 -CD
1 -missile
7 -roll right right
9 -roll left

When I'm flying a cap, I switch the WASD for steering, but I also have a secondary strafing loadout which is needed in some scenarios (99% of that is on battleships, but sometimes strafing in other caps comes in handy) which is O,K,L and whatever is right of L for you for strafing, U for thrust, . for reverse, i for CD and 7,8,9,0,',+ for weapon groups.
Aye! I'm using the same system, and it' good enough

This script - when working - will allow me to do exactly that.
Thanks for all the other ideas and options, but I want to get this working.
Cheers.
Am I understanding this correctly that your script doesn't work?
