Nobody knows. All we know is there were some issues with the server Josh was hosting from (he claimed the issue arose from someone else who was using some of his server space) and shortly afterwards, he vanished completely from the Freelancer community. I believe he's shared messages with the UK community 2 or 3 times on Skype since the server went down - but those were all in the first year after it went down and he's not been seen since. Even his facebook appears to be inactive.
I just noticed people think that Josh past away, infact it was not that or anything, it was kept mostly a secret between admins until Philip Day informed the remaining UK players a year or two ago. What happened to Josh was that he was being accused of fraud due to the server owners at the time took payments from players/admins/josh and did not pay for the server while Josh was trying to push and say it was all paid for, this was the last people including admins heard from him, it was/is a shame sadly, but I wish you good luck in re-creating what was a creat apmosphere.
Shaggy, that was just a cover story that Josh told everyone in the UK server at the time, but it later transpired that he allowed a friend of his to share the webspace he had and his friend uploaded some... questionable content that resulted in a server raid and the server being used for Discovery UK at the time being taken down.
