Captain Phil Adamson was born on Manhattan. His father Richard Adamson was the former captain of the Providence.
Phil knows nothing about his mom, only that she left him and Richard right after he has Born.
Phil comes from a wealthy family. His father was a business genius and from his hard earned money, it made Adamson family millionaires.
Phil worked on Planet Manhattan as an employee in one of LPI Equipment shops owned by his father until his late 16.
His job was very delicate and responsible.
As he started out as a simple weldman for his father's company, he quickly showed off his talents and with some help from his father he grew into a team leader of logistics and mechanics department,
where he handled the equipment shipments and organized workload throughout the LPI Equipment shop departments on several Manhattan parts.
Phil heard about his father of being a respected Dreadnought captain serving for the secondary fleet for quite a long time.
That didn't give much chance to see eachother, because many expeditions could last months before he could see his father again.
Phil and his dad often talked about the day where Phil needs to be sitting on the captains chair, to take command of the beloved Providence.
When Phil turned 17 he applied for the job on a deck of Providence, starting out as a maintenance man on lower-decks.
The time was also about right to be applied to West Point Military academy, to serve onboard in an uniform.
His days went by, in studying foreign relations, Navy politics, the history and once every weekend he got to work onboard the Providence.
Providence was on a simple patrolling mission to maintain peace within outer edges of Liberty, so from time to time, Richard took Phil on the command deck,
to show how the crew handles day-by-day peace maintaining routine and how to act as a captain in different situations, to take responsibility in all the lives onboard.
Richard was a respected man, as everyone knew, he was a man who you could trust, but don't want to anger. He had a short temper, but he was always fair in his decisions.

One day, on a thursday afternoon, Phil got a letter from his father. Phil went to the mail-room, to enter his palm identification for the following message: Phil, dear son. We have been assigned on a mission i cannot provide the details to. Only thing i can say, is we are going...Away, for some time, and on this expedition you cannot participate with us, i love you son, and wish us all the best.
Phil was shocked! Thinking to himself, "For how long?" , "When?" , "Now?" . He quickly hopped on a shuttle to meet a fellow admiral of Richard's on Missouri.
When he got there, asking where the expedition was set, he only got vague answers along the lines of: "Don't worry, it's nothing important, he'll be back soon"
When asking how long is the expedition, he didn't get much answers to.
So days went by, months after months, and Phil was almost finishing with his studies, when one day, a mysterious man appeared to the West Point, asking for Phil Adamson.
Eventually he found Phil, and asked politely: "Hello Phil, could you follow me to the secure room, so we could talk?" His voice had a very low timbre, and judging by the uniform, it was no usual naval officer.
Phil followed the man into the secure room, where he sat down and the man closed the door after.
They both sat down, facing eachother behind the table. The man spoke first: "Good day to you Phil, i'm here to explain you a few things about your father" Phil nods.
Man continued: "For the time being, you are not allowed to ask any questions from your father about his missions, as they are classified, nor you are not authorized to speak on this matter to third-parties, including friends and relatives, this mission data contains sensitive information, which can be harmful if it gets publicly known. You may only contact him via. secure channel, on Missouri, once a month under our supervision and questionnaire will be presented to you."
Phil asked: "First of all, you barge in here without introducing yourself, secondly, can i atleast get to know when my father returns? As i already volunteered to work as an first officer aboard the Providence"
Man briefly answered: "My name is not of your concern, i can be your best friend, or your worst enemy, what is important however, is to be patient, you will be assigned to work in the hudson system patrol in the time being. We are not sure when your father's expedition will end, but under no circumstances you should tell anyone...ANYTHING, this information here is also classified and this meeting never existed, understand?"
Phil answered:"What branch of operations are you from sir? I never saw such an uniform, let alone, with all due respect, i'm starting to question your authority over me"
Man chuckled and said: "My dear Phil, we wouldn't want something bad happened to you, wouldn't we?" He stood up and left the room silently, leaving Phil to sit in the room alone.
He couldn't believe what he just heard and saw, but something inside him told him to keep his mouth shut, otherwise he felt his life would be in danger.
Phil got himself thinking, of what the hell his father got himself into.

The captain responds: "Roger XF-152, we'll see you next week, we are ready to undock!"
