824 AS, REPORT FROM OMICRON DELTA - A major cosmic event has occurred in the Omicrons, marking a date where the orbit around the MEDIUM RED solar in the Delta System has become one inhabitant sparser. Reports say that the asteroid known as 891-GAAL has, as descriptions state, disintegrated in its orbit around the star. Scientists cannot yet specify the cause of this calamity, but guesses include its irregular orbit passing too close to Planet Vaitupu, experimental weapons testing and, of course, the involvement of the Core, Order or even the alien presence in those systems.

Whatever the leading causes are, there are already reports that the resulting FIELD contains rich amounts of various ores, some of which are believed to be highly rare, while others - highly useful. Prices for this unrefined ore have already said to range from 10,500$ per cubic meter in Rheinland, to a whooping 15,400$ in Bretonia. Talks of sponsored mining operations are already under way.

Talks of granting mining corporations limited autanomy while operating within the region are under way and the future of the mining expedition are in the hands of the wealthy and daring. At this point is not event a chance for profit, but also one for pride and self-image. The best results will be achieved by the groups that act fastest.

In order to apply for the bonus, a total of 500 scientific data needs to be provided. The bonus will be applied to both the official and independent variations of the ID.
Furthermore, the bonus will also add the following line to the ID: "- May engage in corporate piracy against non-allied lawful ships within the Omicrons only." for the duration of the event for lawful corporate IDs only.
In order to apply for the bonus, you must provide a link to forum roleplay in this thread and the name of the ship with 500 science data on it.
The bonus may only be applied to IDs with existing mining bonuses such as but not limited to:

If an ID applies for a bonus and doesn't have a friendly/neutral dockable sell location, a new one will be added with a minimum travel time of 10 minutes.

Event]: Omicron Delta has now been given a CONTESTED system status. Any PVP death suffered in this system has a cooldown time of 30 minutes, instead of two hours. Happy hunting.

Cool event idea. Only sad that the Nomad IDs aren't eligible for the bonus, because otherwise, I'd've done it.

Well, considering 1000 SD is a damn lot of money. A money sink for the ability of looooooots of people to harvest money. It is interesting and hopefully not everyone who could take a chance for piracy / kills out of this decides to make a miner and just mine themselves

Obviously, you need to pool the SC together for this to work. There are only that many people on the server with more than 1k on a storage character.

As far i understand, when someone pays for specific ID (let say GMG) , ALL players who have some GMG ship will have bonus.
So, all is needed is to bunch of players (or faction) collect total of 1000 data to unlock some ID they agree to.
Indies will then auto counted in bonus to, and later faction ( or player) who pay for bonus MAY ask money from indies for mining right fee,( on the mining spot when they find them for example) if they want to compensate for their expenses .
