Once again, the Lane Hackers prove themselves the preeminent collectors of knowledge. The information you have provided is of great use to us, and for that we thank you. I will apologize for the delayed response, but I needed some time to collate the information we have available on the subject you requested. As I'm sure you know, the Alaska system is not easy to breach, even for those of us who know how. I was unable to make good progress in that system, however, I have gathered all intel available on the New Hampshire system.
Our battle-liner with the Spyglass components prepared for you fell into a particle storm and is stranded in Texas. We need your assistance as soon as possible. I don't have to tell you that it must be protected and repaired at all costs.
a truly unfortunate circumstance. I will immediately send out ships. We will reroute the repair shipments to instead go to your stranded ship. Should the Navy catch your trail I will have ships ready to defend.
Thank you for your help in securing our ship. Repairs have been completed and I have received information that it reached your station safely. Find attached report for details.
As agreed with the Battlegroup Harmony, our battleliner departed Cochrane Depot on 12th September with Spyglass Network components for both Battleship Harmony and Marshall Station. On its way through Grande Negra in Texas it was hit by a particle storm and grounded. A high profile rescue operation was initiated while we called for help Battlegroup Harmony, Liberty Rogues and even Unioners. We managed to organize ad hoc shipments of replacement powercore components from Cochrane Depot and engine components from Wedel Mining Facility. In the beginning our operation was almost uninterrupted, however, later an organized group of Bounty Hunters Guild attacked our convoy and inflicted significant losses in California. We managed to regroup in Texas where numerous medium and large scale skirmishes with Liberty Navy and Bounty Hunters Guild occurred for the next two days with support of Battlegroup Harmony, Liberty Rogues and the Unioners. Thankfully, our allies managed to draw enough attention on themselves, that we were able to complete Battleliner repairs. Today it reached its destination and installation of the Spyglass Network node on Marshall Station has begun.
Several months ago, one of your people submitted a detailed report of the system of Alberta showing key areas of the system. This report also happened to include the location of an experimental jump gate in the Cold Bay cloud to the east. While so far there has been no real activity from it, this does not mean that the possibility of the gate being calibrated, or software updates of some sort, are not taking place. Seeing the obvious threat still looming inside the Liberty government and armed forces, there has been much speculation as to what could be taking place at Leduc.
Most, if not all, research pertaining to this gate is likely secured on this station, and with the Lane Hackers' deep hatred of Ageira, I'm of a mind to think that your organization would be interested in dealing a blow here. Alongside that, the destination of the gate could also be of great concern. Naval operations are often secluded and secretized for the 'safety of the public', and while the project is publicly headed by Ageira, the Navy likely has a large stamp in what occurs there. The intent is likely connection with farther systems, perhaps even the deep omicrons themselves, which would give the nomads a direct route to the heart of Liberty and jut a swift end to what hope we could have of removing this pestilence from our home.
The possibilities of removing the threat, as well as gaining insight into this project, far outweighs the risks in my opinion. Knowledge from this station could secure dominance against the armed forces, and would quickly aid in securing our foothold even more.
Your assistance in this matter would very likely help both sides.
We are happy to finally hear from Harmony. There has been significant period of silence from your Battlegroup following the Texas extraction. We have barely noticed your active operations since then and had minimal overall contact. May I inquire what happened and why there has been no communique from Admiral Knight herself? Are you satisfied with the progress of upgrades in Bering? I would really like to finalize our previous endeavors before jumping into new ones.
Nonetheless, let me provide you with the basic intelligence on the Supergate. What just recently caught your attention is the very reason of our presence in Alberta. For years now our wings are patrolling vicinity of Leduc Station and monitoring progress of the Supergate construction. We believe that the project has entered a design deadlock and currently no visible progress is being observed. Even so, we cannot entire ignore the threat posed by the installation, though we believe you are misperceiving it. The biggest threat of the Supergate is the repetition of the Texas incident. Why do you think of all systems Alberta has been chosen as a test site? It is a remote system with small and disposable population of Zoners and pirates with just handful of mining operations. A disaster of tenfold magnitude could still be reasonably contained within this system and nobody would cry after few Zoner and pirate lives lost in the process.
I do also believe that you underestimate Ageira role in shaping Liberty Government's movements. It is unlikely that Liberty Navy has any impact on Ageira doings. Their position is strong enough to do what they please regardless of Admiralty or even President's will. The Supergate Project is motivated purely by greed. Establishing a first direct one-jump connection between capital systems and tooling all the traffic accordingly would make entire wealth accumulated by IND over decades look like a pocket money.
With all that being said, if you plan any action against Ageira in Alberta, we are listening.
I'm not fully sure where the Battlegroup's been in terms of contact, as seeing the activity from our ships in both Bering and the Republic proper, we haven't been very silent. Reserved, but not silent. I'm not fully sure why the Admiral hasn't reached out again to close up past operations, but perhaps she's busy with matters like Marshall, or perhaps even the defense in Puerto Rico. I can't say.
Moving on, however. The design of the gate, as you said, is most likely halted, though with the construction stopped they could still be running tests. My belief is that the data contained on that station would be of use to both Harmony and the Hackers, and given that securing it would mean that Ageira would have a fairly significant deficit in their plans for it, there would be quite a bit to gain from all of it.
The operation would be focused mainly in two parts, with both being able to be done simultaneously. Part one would focus on disabling the gate, keeping it from becoming a danger in the event of, as you said, another potential collapse. It would also prevent them from activating the gate in the scenario that it actually does work.
Part two would be an overwhelming siege, where the station would be assaulted by combined forces of both of our groups to raid and secure what data we could procure, as well as even the possibility of securing the gate and station for your own.
Precise planning will need to be done before any attempt is made, but the belief is that the station will be quick to fall given the light defenses around it. With hope, this will put a dent in not only Ageira's work, but the Navy's as well.
Very well, then. Let me iterate over basic assumptions here.
There is no way of hacking Ageira research complex remotely. In order to gain any valuable data we need to overrun the station fast enough to prevent the self-destruction of the mainframe and maintain control long enough to secure the data extraction.
The level of security on Leduc is too high for an infiltration operation to be possible. You must be prepared for a full-fledged assault instead. We can hijack one of DSE supply shipments going to Leduc and smuggle this way both your detachment of commandoes and our team of assassins into the station. Once landed a regular battle will commence. Your soldiers' task would be to secure the docks and eliminate Ageira security personnel compartment by compartment. Since our assassins are not really trained for this type of combat, they will have a different goal.
Once the base director realizes the gravity of the situation, the mainframe self-destruction procedure will be launched. By the last iteration of Ageira regulations it will give us 5 minutes grace period for an emergency abort. Abort keys should be known to a chief of security, a head director, a R&D director and probably their deputies. Using cover provided by your soldiers our assassins will locate vulnerable targets and convince them to abort the countdown. Convincing should be fairly easy as long as we have about three weeks prior the operation to perform research and properly plan kidnapping of their families... Don't trouble yourself with it, we will cover that part entirely.
Once the station is secured our tech teams can land and start the time-consuming data extraction. However, it will be all for nothing if we cannot hold the base for several days at least. Here come two problems. First is nothing we cannot solve with a few NEMP payloads delivered to the jump gate. Unfortunately, cutting the system off from reinforcements will only save us from Ontario and California QRFs. Someone will have to disable the Battleship Concord and take out its escorts, or we will get wiped out be the marines. Will Harmony manage to do it?
Personally, I've never given much thought as to the inner workings of Ageira. You'd know more than I would, and on the order of their interior workings, I'm inclined to take your word on it. After all, what's cooperation without trust, hmm? The plan you've proposed looks well thought out, and given your knowledge on the situation, I can see it working fairly well. Assuming all goes well, it should leave Leduc, and a majority of Alberta, undefended by the Navy, leaving a window open for other operations. The Battlegroup can take care of the Concord, but we might have an issue with her wing. Not much should be stationed up here, since it's the boonies, but an assault against the gate and the Concord will definitely take a few hits to our manpower.
There shouldn't be any issue, besides the Navy, but we're more than prepared to remove them once the order's given. We'll need to plan a date for this assault, as coordination will be key to success.
