You shot someone who wasn't shooting you, without a notice. That is the issue here, if you don't see it... well, your loss, not mine. I've said what I needed to say.
There is no actual server breaking rule that you keep so happily mentioning. It's ridiculous. He RPed with you, long enough to shoot/kill one of you. If you don't like it, keep it to yourself and get him next time. That's a good sport.
I really missed Commune's PC friends on our threads.
PS: If someone else can confirm(outside the involved parties) that he engaged without a bit of RP showing any sign of provocation, I'll jump on the nope train and leave Disco.

I'm not related to this situation in any way, I'm just stating my indifferent opinion on it. A person in question (again, from my point of view) didn't broke any server rules. They were fighting against multiple A/)- tagged ships and the ship they've killed was tagged with the same tag. Doesn't matters if the person was AFKing, but it does matters if it the person in question (The (C~ tagged ship) didn't put any engagement notices against Auxesia ships before the very beginning of the fight. But if they were in the same group, the (C~ guy had the complete right to annihilite the AFKer if they wanted so.
So in the end, it was up to the (C~ guy to decide the AFKer's fate. I can't really see any points in rambling about this situation other than the person behind the character. But the ooRP reasons should stay ooRP.

In the past admins (and I'm talking years in the past) said that not every enemy group member must be given an engagement notice or RPed with before engagement, and (although this was more rare) even that not everyone in a group must RP before engaging, as long as the group leader, or members of the group does. It's even been said that anyone who is onlooker in a RP fight (even if they're not grouped or allied with other participants in the fight) is fair game to be shot at without talking to them first.
I mean imagine a group fight... and you have to RP with every single enemy before entering it, including those who arrive late. It's impossible and useless except if you're a rule lawyer type.
Also, I think game mechanics were specifically engineered so people can be shot easily after disconnecting.
I second what Karlotta said. Precisely my thought. Let's all do this now when you fight some groups of enemies you do this: "Now, I don't want to shoot YOU anymore, I'm gonna shoot the other YOU!"
Lol.

I don't understand one thing. Why didn't you submit a report against a player that you think did something against rules?
I would've not had anything against you if you did it. In Commune, we have a set of unwritten rules, that each member understands for good, no matter of his experience within RP. Follow server rules, and do not break them - is one of them. In the Mission Board thread, in misc notes, there is also written: "Follow your ID lines."
I tell this to guys so much that I sometimes even annoy myself too. Thus, that is why I would not have anything against it.
Above, I see everything is explained so, no need to attempt some drama here. I saw it too many times.

Eking out an existence, like most of the server these days. We're around, but not at the level of organization and enthusiasm as in the past. Though that is bound to change sooner or later, as previous experience suggests. We'd like more iRP involvement with factions, and more objectives to pursue as a result from that. So if anyone needs a bad guy to blame for their characters' problems, don't hesitate to come to us.
We're also in need of fresh recruits right now, so I'd take this opportunity to direct anyone who might be interested in this sort of thing to our recruitment thread.
