As a Junker myself, I try to avoid Manhattan. It's too easy to get caught.
Although my... ahem...landing credentials... still work.
There isn't many times when I need to go to Manhattan for what I need.

*hehe..chuckles as the comm volume goes down*

Junkers also don't have any love for Bounty Hunters. Take notice that pretty much any mission offered by Junkers is against these opportunistic Bounty Hunters. This is one of the big difference between Junkers and Zoners. Zoners are friendly with Bounty Hunters while Junkers are not. While Bounty Hunters are not officially enemies of Junkers ... they really aren't tollerated much ... and for the most part ... Junkers would not associate with Bounty Hunters. Main reason for this is that Bounty Hunters cause too much trouble for friends of Junkers ... ahem ... like Corsairs and Outcast.

yea, a lot of new junker players make the mistake of taking anti-BH missions and it screws over their rep if they ever want to operate... anywhere.

In new york you can take missions against the xenos for junker rep, and it makes you more friendly with just about everyone else, even the bounty hunters.

Bounty hunters arent really an open enemy with junkers, but considering we shelter criminals... we dont want them snooping around. We can work with BH's, but we dont trust them.

The Xenos would benefit greatly if they allied with us, but they're stubborn. They want to corner the black market trade in liberty so they can start making some big money, but with us around they cant do that.

I'm fairly sure that the Farmers' Alliance is probably against the Junkers, as they are on the side of the Hogosha, and thus do not need the Junkers.

Kusaris as a whole will see Junkers as foreign traders trying to dislodge their own companies and take their place--as well as opening the door to cardamine addiction of the youth and introduction of loose non-Kusari values.

It would be akin for a Kusari as it would be to you hearing that the Bloods or Crips were coming to open a crack lab, gun store and prostitution franchise chain in your hometown.

Elsewhere--Jinx has a good take on them.

Junkers are not a "distinct people"--they have a very distinct culture but are socially diverse.

You can take Outcast, Corsair and Liberty Rogue missions on Junker bases and also take Missions against Corsairs and others.

Several shippers (Aegeira and IC for example) have missions against them as criminals and Liberty rep goes up with authorities when you take missions against or kill Junkers.

Leave room to play "your Junker". They are diverse--one size does NOT fit all.

You can smuggle cardamine or "never touch the stuff". You can slave trade or find it abhorrent. Junkers mind their own business and strive to keep others out of it.

Play an individual--not a clone.

Their bottom line is profit and personal freedom unencumbered by someone else's values--plus absolute loyalty to their own and intolerance for incompetence or stupidity that puts them at risk.

That's some of my take on it but there is a lot of room to develop them. From simple thugs to mafia to clever and discrete geniuses.

Of course the GC is probably not hostile to them, and likely the BD are at least neutral with them as well, if only because they are a useful source of supplies. They also have a handy base right in Sigma 13 that's just a hop away from Chugoku.

GC would be the ONE Kusari group that might work with them as they are fine with bringing cardamine into Kusari which is a huge taboo with the rest of the system.

I'd say the Dragons would be slightly tolerant of them so long as they were in and out respectful and business like and brought gifts. They would be about as welcome as construction workers are working on your house. You understand they have to walk around in it but you keep an eye on them and don't want them messing with your stuff.

They would never be friends. Some Dragons might accept them as a necessary evil but would never want a permanent presence in Kusari.

Remember the "hard coded" role play is despite their best efforts, the Junkers have not been able to gain access to Kusari as a real market.

Junkers do not have landing rights anywhere in Kusari in-character (despite the fact that most junkers are oblivious to this), with the exception of Ainu Depot in Hokkaido. The Golden Chrysanthemums are indeed friendly towards all Junkers, and welcome anything that further weakens the Hogosha. They are not, however, interested in allowing the Junkers to distribute cardamine throughout Kusari, as the Golden Chrysanthemums profit greatly from their exclusive distribution rights in their home nation.

I wouldnt say we 'dont have landing rights' in kusari. I often smuggle goods into honshu or kyushu, I just have to be exceptionally careful (no using trade lanes, staying more than 10k from any scanner contacts, etc). There are always people in any location that need goods only a junker (or other smuggler) can provide them, and while it is a big risk going into kusari space, I make my trips very quick, and very stealthy.

We do deal with the blood dragons frequently though, providing arms and other supplies (fuel, food, water, etc).

GC really love us, I get lots of attention when I smuggle them a full load of cardamine :D

EDIT:

I suppose my character is a bit different than most junkers though. He was in the GMG war, and one of the crew members onboard the ship is a kusari VIP, so I've got some contacts in kusari to work with where most junkers wouldnt.

Most Junkers don't have much to do with Kusari anyway ... mostly because of the Hogosha and Kusari government's close relationship.
