We have done much in these past few months to support the furthered protection of both of our organizations. Both of our peoples are stronger as a result, however the time has come to truly prove your Union's usefulness to my overseers, Amalfi, and to Malta as a whole.

There is an installation in the Texas system built by a petty off-shoot of DSE that Amalfi has known about for quite some time, that has caused a number of minor issues with our ability to extort resources from the area. Multiple semi-affiliated individuals have also recognized this base's obstinate refusal to cease existing, and as of late- a number of independents have seen fit to take it upon themselves to annihilate it, so Amalfi is taking this opportunity to see to it that this modular-base be purged. I have been asked to reconnoiter the region, and acquire willing allies in the push against this cancerous pustule upon the acquisitions-business in Liberty. At present, no Amalfi heavy anti-capital and anti-base assets are located in the Liberty region, as their power-projection is better applied elsewhere, especially given the distance from Texas to any bases flying Maltese IFF. Given your people's presence in the nearby area, it has been decided to levy your support in this matter, and given our past working-relationship, I have been tasked with contacting you about this.

Rest assured that Amalfi vessels will be present for this virtual rabid-mob, however it would greatly improve your organization's standing with all present parties - Malta included - if a heavy UN| presence was similarly in attendance. We would advise your people make an effort in this matter, as it can and very likely will result in further inroads with those attending. Should the Alster Union be a willing participant, I can personally assure you as to gaining the favor of Amalfi's upper echelons. as they are watching this matter intently.

If this be the case and your people willing and ready to stand with the Directorate as Malta's allies, make it known here, and I'll ensure you're informed as to the specifics of where and when. Your organization have yet to disappoint us- I would not advise starting now.

Ahhh Mister Callahan,

I am delighted to hear from you again. I guess that it must be fate or some over higher instance that you are mentioning a certain DSE affiliated modular base in the Texas system. We had a deal with it that made them not shoot at us and us not at them, such a deal was necessary as to keep our own operations in the area running. Sadly compared to Amalfi and the rest of Malta we do not have many heavier assets, not enough to remove that installation in the past.

That you now come and ask for our assistance is quite the convenience. Our leadership thinks that with a combined fleet of Maltese ships we will be able to rid the Texas system and it´s scrap field from DSE´s influence. As of now I cannot tell you the precise composition of the strike force we will deploy and also it is highly classified which exact vessels are in out possession but I will do my best and use my influence to let it contain as many of our heaviest assets as possible. I can assure you that it will be an honour, for me personally at least, to fight along side you.

But reason demands it that I am also going to mention the not so pleasent thing. Texas is still a Liberty system and you can count with all those fine Admirals to jump up scared if they recieve word of an Armada in the system. Not only that there are enough factions which are not military that will try to make us stop breathing.

And may fate shine upon Malta and the Union.

Let me just go ahead and state that the way this situation took place was far from ideal.

The Amalfi attack-squadron that was sent to assist in the siege either wasn't present, or wasn't available to assist when your people arrived on-scene. That being the case, nobody was there to fully mediate the situation when Malta's more... zealous elements - lets call them - sent your people away. From what I've been told and been shown: rather than leaving the area and returning to your own territory, UN vessels engaged a Liberty attack wing elsewhere in the system. Whether it be by intent or coincidence, that Liberty-wing appears to have been bound for the attack-fleet on the base at the time, and could have potentially posed a threat to the overall siege were they allowed to continue on. By causing a bigger ruckus for Liberty to deal with, you indirectly aided the attack, which is overall what Amalfi was asking for from your organization.

Why it was exactly that the arrayed Maltese and Rogue fleet decided to turn your assistance away, is probably a question we best not concern ourselves with. As was stated: if Amalfi representatives were not otherwise indisposed, that situation would've been handled far differently. What was noted however was your people's willingness to come to the aid of the interests of Malta, something we do look for and notice in our trade-partners and associate organizations. For the time being, the situation has been resolved and the acquisitions business can proceed unhindered in the area- which was the overall goal of this particular kerfuffle, and for that; the Directorate thanks you.
