Reasons are backing both gameplay and lore, I don't see Gaians having a lot to do
As I'm out of the loop squared, could you be so kind as to point me in the direction that explains the Gaian/Bretonia neutrality thing you mentioned, please?
Since you said, "never really" ...it sounds more like a Molly thing to me than a Gaian thing, but still, if disco flipped into bizzaroworld, I'd like to read up on it.

Basically they made some kind of NAP except there's no rp about it on the forums or any Bret announcements that I'm aware of and the laws don't state anything but apparently that no aggression pact is a thing because of Gallia.
You will also notice that the Gaians aren't on the Bretonian Board anymore, or well, before it was taken down
I'm sure there's a thread somewhere but the only thing I found was something done by an unofficial faction and the bret official account made no official stamp or statement anywhere in that thread or anywhere else that I'm aware of

ewww...reading that makes me feel unclean...like, in need of a silkwood shower 'unclean'
so, i'ma default to "Documentation, or it never happened"
I'll let the upper guys talk about the NAP specifically but to say we have nothing to do is... not a good picture to paint.
Gallia is there to fight, piracy is still a thing, we've been smuggling with the Sairs and Unioneers, Crete to Kusari is a thing, SCEC is on the loop for good RP, we've been considering hitting the Hogs as well and I am seriously wanting to invade the Taus because of NO-Problems whatsoever with the people who live there.
And on the top of that - @Megaera wants to invade Gaia. >=(
PS: Oh yeah, and last weekend we gave the Hessians a good run some moving targets before Core decided to crash the party come in like a wrecking ball - then managed to leave over the leftovers, just like good Gaians.
I read it, along with the original threat from the gaul side...& I'll continue to snorfel around for anything else that supports the line, but so far, I've found nothing.
As it stands, given the scant info found & provided (thx, btw!) I'm forced to see the NAP as solid as a turd dumped in the toilet after a night of heavy drinking.
(i.e.- it blows dirt...imho)
Gaians are terrorists & I aim to play that role with laser focus as intended.

Time to put a Corsair ID on all my Gaian ships. I really don't understand how a player faction alone is allowed to make such a decision to gut 1/3 of the indie ID. Why wasn't just the GG- ID changed instead? That player faction can die in the next 2 months and never be heard from again while the damage they left behind is permanent, especially for someone else who comes and takes over Gaians (heck, even if someone wants to make a faction now he's heavily limited). Player factions shouldn't be allowed to make such extreme calls without the story team approving it because it goes in line with other changes.
As for Gaian roleplay, that has been terrible as well. Swapping from being neutral with Gallia and friendly/allied with Corsairs to shooting Gallia, losing the alliance with Corsairs and getting a NAP with Bretonia doesn't make sense to me, not just from an inRP perspective but also ooRP one. As far as I know Gaians were made Gallia's puppets because a) they realised they'd stop existing otherwise and had to, and b) it helps GRN not fight 10+ factions alone. Also what's the benefit of Corsairs to actually keeping Gaians around anymore? You stopped fighting all Corsairs' enemies, you're too small to be worth hauling Artifacts to, you're a huge risk in a war zone at the verge of an extinction - Corsairs have every reason to terminate all ties with Gaians at this point. At least with GRN's protection they could've made a triple pact seeing how Corsairs and GRN are moving forward in negotiations.
A NAP with Bretonia? For what? To be the 11th faction that shoots GRN and throw all previous roleplay into the ground? Let's not even talk about how Islay is still alive despite Gallics occupying and patrolling the system for years now. If I was on the GRN side when Gaians and GRN made their NAP deal, the first thing I'd ask is obviously bases that Gaians have in the war zones. Islay is first that'd (have to) be exposed, otherwise Gaians'd stop existing. To think all this time it's "hidden" inRP is ludicrous.
A player faction shouldn't be allowed to impact their indie ID so heavily through such 180 turns with ZoI and change of heart whenever they please to. Change your own ID, leave indies alone. It's why every official faction gets its own ID in the first place - to be able to separate from indie ID and make its own RP. I don't mind you doing what you did as GG-, but I do mind you putting that on all Gaians.
Edit: And that's without taking into consideration the fact that there was next to no roleplay done about all the abovementioned, it just sorta happened.
Tbh,indeed from storyline inRP view, that NAPs do sense, just because it left no place for RP anymore, cause inRP gallia want all.
Storyline made from gallia global enemy, and we all see logical reaction on it - consolidation against one powerful enemy. It not like Ku-Rh war which make actual blackwater for doing shade deals, that indeed was developed as kind of total war, and this left no place for helping locals - what sense if gallia will win, take all, they clearly wont share baguette's lebensraum after it. While as bretonian eco-terrorists, they could rely on more wide common citizens support and lobbying their thing if they help to Br. Or at least, they always could ensure in BAF bleeding after they push gallia out.
Of course it all terrible from ooRP. Viva le roy. Rest in peace tau-bretonian criminal soup.
