Recruitment
We prefer recruitment through the game or through comms. But we have a normal recruitment thread too:
The Hellfire Legion was a large insurrectionist force founded by Drake Thastus not long after the end of the Nomad War. Over the course of more than two decades, the Hellfire Legion formed into a major threat to the Liberty Navy, and after a decline in the waning 820s, they merged with the Liberty Separatists to form the Insurgency, retaining their identity under the title of 'Battlegroup Gladius'.
Information
Battlegroup Gladius focuses on a stronger, more direct method of confrontation against the forces of Liberty, and retains the same identity that the Hellfire Legion before had, including all formal intricacies. Performance in the field is a major contributor to recognition, and logging all accomplishments ensures that such is made reality.
Battlegroup Gladius makes heavy use of Legion warships, with imports of Liberty Naval technology into our warline. Heavy ships like the Arbiter, Judicator, Inquisitor, and Prosecutor are mainstays of Gladius, and are focused over the objectively less familiar ships known to Harmony and the Liberty Navy.
Gladius also makes heavy use of experimental technology in an effort to counter the growing technological advance of the Liberty Navy. This can include typical technologies such as cloaking devices to more offensive pieces such as codename warship weaponry and Nuclear EMP devices.

Relocation to Battlegroup Harmony Name: Kelly O'Brien Date of birth: 793.07.21 Place of birth: Planet Manhattan, New York, Liberty Basic description or picture:
Rank: Lieutenant Commander Former fleet and battlegroup: Secondary Fleet Join Date: 811.07.21
Miss O'Brien joined the Navy right when she reached 18. She has been an excellent servicemember and I regret having to let her go for the restructuring. She might not be the most exemplary in combat skill or leadership but she is helpful to her comrades and follows orders to the letter. During the Rheinland war our Battlegroup was tasked with defending Texas where she showed that she deserved her promotions. An exceptional situation occured during 819 in which she shielded the blast of an exploding Rheinland Capital vessel from her comrade. Her ship was penetrated by debris by which she was wounded but luckily our ships could rescued her in time. Her promotion to Lieutenant Commander followed shortly after. What she does lack though, is combat experience against Gallic vessels. You should consider that if your group is sent to the border since we haven't been..

Service history: Cadet (813-815), Ensign (815-818), Lieutenant Junior Grade (818-823)
Mister Moose was allocated to us after having served as Patrol escort on the Battleship James and the Missouri with bravura in 815. He was assigned to the Delta-2 Security Wing, which mainly operated in and around the Minnesota System. He was honoured for his actions against intruders and got promoted to the rank of Lieuntenant and Wing Leader in the year 818 A.S. .
As member of one of the Radford Wings he passed a strict safety check and therefore is bound to keep secrecy about any information of value. Therefore I advise you to not ask him about his time at Radford. As his supervisor you have the right to do so and he would anwser your questions without doubt, but as you may or may not know, Radford's security standard is beyond the one of every other Navy installation, including Willard.
But I can guarantee that he will be an enrichment for your forces, Miss Knight.

Relocation to Battlegroup Harmony Name: Lexy Hawkins Date of birth: 800.03.17 Place of birth: Planet Manhattan, New York, Liberty Basic description or picture:
Rank: Lieutenant Former fleet and battlegroup: Secondary Fleet Join Date: 818.03.20
Awards:
- Silver Star (821)
- Rheinland Campaign (821)
- Hellfire Legion Service (822)
Certifications:
- Advanced/Expert Space-Combat Training; Perfect scores on Advanced, above-average scores on Expert.
- Basic/Advanced Ground Training, moderately good shot; prefers hand guns. Near-perfect scores on Basic, average on Advanced.
- Next to no leadership training - do not put her in charge, she will panic.
Additional information:
- Combat capabilities excel when she pilots her personal BDR-804 "Guardian" Very Heavy Fighter supposedly named "Layla", or simply "Ray" whenever she believes herself to have failed in anything related to the vessel, which is very rarely seen, her confidence in herself being outstanding.
The ship itself is identical to the majority of the other Guardians, with the exception that Ms. Hawkins holds a great emotional attachment to it, her morale and overall combat prowess increasing greatly whenever she pilots it. Not advised for her to pilot any other ship of the same kind (Snubcraft), Ms. Hawkins' usual optimism and pure dedication to come out victorious being significantly reduced.
- Is a patriot down to the bone, would never do something that could endanger Liberty's health in any way.
- Descends into laziness once she goes through a multitude of uneventful days, becoming greatly unmotivated but quick to recover when needed.
- The Bretonian accent passed down from her mother may sometimes surface whenever her spirits are up, or she is greatly frustrated or annoyed.
"Where in the world did you find this brat?" were the first few words her flight instructor spoke the very moment Hawkins opened her mouth during her beginning days of her training. "Hopeless, unskilled, won't survive long. But damn is she determined to push on forward. Say the words 'I give up' around her and she'll write you down on her hate-list on the spot." That alone sums Hawkins up.
Miss Hawkins is, indeed, incredibly young compared to numerous other Lieutenants. While it's true that it may seem rather odd that such a youngling managed to climb up the ranks in such a short amount of time, it was well-deserved by any stretch of the word.
Her first live-action 'tests' were against the Rheinland Military, which she fortunately passed, managing to survive more than one vicious explosion of her craft whenever her flight skills just weren't enough to pull it off. However, each and every time she got back on her feet, she resumed the battle in full force; transforming into a true thorn in Rheinland's side by the end of it, her last vessel - "Ray" - having formed a powerful bond with it's pilot, Hawkins believing herself to be virtually unbeatable while piloting said vessel.
Unfortunately, Miss Hawkins was not capable of being there during the Leeds defense, and only took part in a small number of campaigns against The Kingdom of Gallia, myself having considered her at the time to be a more valuable asset to Liberty whilst inside it, not on it's borders, not in Bretonia. The war against Rheinland proved it to be so; Hawkins taking the shape of a powerful shield instead of a sharp sword.
The continuation of Miss Hawkins' career was based inside Liberty space, The Hellfire Legion being her biggest enemy without a doubt, herself being put against a significant number of brawls with the deserters. Supposedly, they have tried persuading Hawkins to join their ranks - multiple times - and if my memory serves me right, one such occasion included the Legion using force. As you might expect, the young Lieutenant managed to push through and succeed in keeping her patriotic sentiments where they always were, keeping her vessel intact for a good while until reinforcements came in, leaving her room for a daring escape, pulling it off with grace and talent.
I have no doubt that you will find Hawkins to be a valuable asset to you and your Battlegroup, Miss Knight. I wish you all good luck.

If there was ever a model officer to have ever served under my command, that officer would have to be Commander Ryan Douglas. Despite not having any legacy of military service in his family, Douglas enrolled in his high school's JROTC program before applying to West Point Military Academy. He distinguished himself as an able Cadet with an uncanny ability to command and an intimate understanding of strategy. Upon graduation and promotion to Ensign, Douglas briefly considered transferring to the Marine Corps and excelled in the battery of exams and tests leading up to such an action. However, upon being promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, he instead resolved to stay in the Navy and become a naval aviator. Upon earning his wings, he was promoted to Lieutenant for his actions.
He was stationed on the Battleship Missouri for five years, often sallying out with Navy forces to defend New York from an assortment of Liberty Rogues, Lane Hackers, Xenos, and any other forces that threatened the security of the heartland of Liberty. He displayed valor under fire, and during a massive attack on the Colorado jump gate by Xeno forces, the Lieutenant was cut off from Liberty forces with the rest of his squadron and was forced to engage a force that outnumbered his own with by a ratio of two to one. Although they took heavy casualties, the squadron was actually able to repel the opposing forces and hold out until reinforcements arrived. For this gallant display, Douglas was awarded the Navy Silver Star, and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander to serve as the new XO of his squadron.
The Lieutenant Commander and his squadron were soon transferred to the Battleship Yukon in the California system to deal with threats there. Until 818, the Lieutenant Commander fought against incursions by the Hellfire Legion and other threats to Liberty, engaging the former in Magellan on most occasions. For his actions against that traitorous threat to our freedom, he was awarded the Hellfire Service Medal. When the war with Rheinland commenced and many Navy battlegroups were transferred to the emergent frontline, Douglas was assigned to deal with the threat to our sovereignty and freedom. Within months, he was promoted to the rank of Commander and given his own squadron command. This squadron participated in a number of skirmishes with Rheinland forces, ranging from our own operations in the Federal Republic to defending our capitol and homeland in the New York system from the Rheinland Military's efforts to crush our liberties, which earned him both the Rheinland Campaign Medal and the Homeland Defense Medal. Serving with distinction, he sustained grievous wounds during an engagement with the enemy in New York, costing him one of his arms. For this sacrifice, he was given the Purple Heart and, despite the possibility of an honorable discharge awaiting him, soon demanded a fitting prosthetic and reassignment back to the frontlines. By the time he had fully recovered, the Gallic Royal Navy had invaded Bretonia and taken the Leeds system. In preparation for Operation Royal Flush, Commander Douglas was transferred back to Western Liberty to the Battleship Yukon. Joining the massive joint Liberty-Bretonia strike force bound for Leeds, he fought valiantly alongside the allied forces, and was given the Joint Service Medal Ribbon, Bretonian Expeditionary Medal, and was among those who received a Navy Gallant Unit Citation for one of the battlegroups who participated in the battle.
For this long and venerable career in the Navy, Commander Douglas was offered the rank of Captain. He declined, instead favoring his commitment to his squadron and a more mobile theatre of operations than be confined to a lone area. As such, he was instead granted the Distinguished Service Medal for his service and soon requested transfer to this battlegroup.
There is no finer man to have ever served under me than Douglas, Rear Admiral. I implore you to count him among your own ranks.
Relocation to Battlegroup Harmony Name: Emilia Young Date of birth: 799.06.14 Place of birth: Planet Los Angeles, California, Liberty Basic description or picture:

Service history: Cadet (819-819), Lieutenant Junior Grade (819-820), Lieutenant (820-)
I was having Lieutenant Young at my side on my old post before being reassigned to the Harmony. She was an extraordinary officer and an adequate addition to my commanding staff back then. Sadly she wasn't assigned to my command when the forces were restructured and it cost me many talks to get her here.
Miss Young has an excellent feeling for assesing a combat situation and knowing possible dangers. She is great at organisation and was reacting to every situation quick and precisely. She is everything the Navy wants in an officer. And the LSF realized that too apparently. She was taking part in joint trainings that are used to improve both skill and to find out if someone is suited to switch force. But Lieutenant Young denied and stayed with the Navy.
I believe she will make an eccelent addition to our Battlegroup and with her we can certainly avoid another attack of such magnitude.
Relocation to Battlegroup Harmony Name: Matthew Hemlock Date of birth: June 18th, 790 A.S. Place of birth: Littleton, Planet New Denver, Colorado System, Liberty Space Basic description or picture:
Rank: Commander Former fleet and battlegroup: Liberty Navy Third Fleet Join Date: February 6th, 811 A.S.
Awards: Homeland Defense Medal (817/823), Recruiter Ribbon (820), Hellfire Legion Service Medal (823), Purple Heart (823) Certifications:
Basic Fighter Training - West Point, New York
Basic Bomber Training - Fort Willis, Denver
Basic/Advanced Fleet Warship Command Training - Fort Albuquerque, Los Angeles
I must admit, despite his tendency to play hero, Capta-- er, Commander Hemlock is one of the best officers under my command. He may look like the servin' type, but that maverick is anything but, and has always been like that since he was recruited under my command. He graduated third of his class in basic training aboard West Point. Within his first year, I saw it fit to give him his promotion to Ensign, but he just kept rising.
After West Point, he continued with basic bomber training at Fort Willis on Denver. He built up a reputation as one of the gutsiest pilots there, which I suppose is a prerequisite for bomber pilots. I wouldn't know. I captain warships. After training, he was raised to Lieutenant, which honestly didn't last long. In preparation for his eventual promotion to Lieutenant Commander, I saw it fit to accept his enrollment into the Fleet Warship command Training Courses at Fort Albuquerque on Los Angeles, where he soared with flying colors.
It was at about this time, and with his promotion to Lieutenant Commander, that I began to see the worth in Hemlock's service. During a routine patrol in New York, Hemlock's squadron, along with an accompanying Gunboat, the Deseret, came across a marauding party of Rheinland Military ships which, coming from the report, consisted of another gunboat, seven fighters, and a transport which was reported as hauling marines of Rheinlandic origin. I'm not sure of the specifics of the engagement, but the result was a victory on the behalf of Hemlock's ships and the Deseret. For this, he was awarded the first of his two Homeland Defense Medals.
After the engagement, his career was rather uneventful until he was promoted to the rank of Commander through his time in the service. Not long after he was promoted, he came to me regarding the recruitment of an associate of his, Catherine Reyes. Considering his service to this great nation, I decided to accept his request, and put Cadet Reyes under his command. His training of the Cadet, and her eventual rise to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, was all I needed to give him his Recruiter Ribbon, and soon after his promotion to Captain.
His service after his promotion, however, is quite different from before. Not long after, he had requested a transfer to the command of a Victory-class Siege Cruiser, the Shamrock Bay. Given his decorated service history, and after a talk with it's CO Terrance Bradford, he was approved and given command of the ship. Not long after he took command, I had given him clearance to operate on the Third Fleet's behalf during Operation "Royal Flush", where his ship, along with the majority of the First, Fifth, and a majority of the Secondary Fleet, aided in the destruction of the R.N.S. Oubli. After the operation, he returned to Liberty. Upgrades of the ship and replacements of the roster followed, and after a devastating operation by the Hellfire Legion, Hemlock was left wounded, and the Shamrock Bay critically damaged.
His actions involving the Hellfire ships, as well as the crew recounts of the engagement, gave me no choice but to demote him back to Commander, but along with that, rewards of the Hellfire Legion Service Medal, the Purple Heart, as well as another Homeland Defense Medal. The Shamrock Bay was put back into service fairly quickly, but Hemlock remained rattled, injured and out of duty for several months. He has recently recovered from his injuries, and I've since learned that he has taken the lessons learned from the Hellfire incident to heart.
I've no doubt that you will find a use for Hemlock, his crew and the Shamrock Bay, Rear Admiral Knight. Should you find this relocation form acceptable, I will send word to Commander Hemlock and give him his final orders, and promptly send him off to you for a debriefing. His record is outstanding, even including the misdemeanors, and I'm sure he would make a fine addition to your battlegroup.
-Regards Admiral Franklin Christianson
Liberty Navy Third Fleet
I first meet Reeves at a training seminar I had to do at West Point, you wouldn't really think much of him. He would never really talk or voice his opinions much, so people wrongfully came up with a low expectation of how far he would go in the Navy. I have personally worked alongside him and have seen him go above what he is required to do in his duties for the sake of protecting maybe an extra person or two, no matter the personal cost. He is by no means perfect or the best pilot the Navy has to offer, but he is much more than expected. I do have to clarify his sudden rank rise, he proved himself a valuable asset and the Navy needed inspiring officers especially during the recent Gallic incursion in California, due to the circumstances he was quickly promoted due to his abilities and even given command of the Integrity, a way to prove my point is to state that before I put Reeves in command of the Integrity, it had never shot down a Battleship, yet a day after I had put him in command of it, I had a report on my desk the next morning detailing how the Integrity commanded by him and its crew had successfully shot down a Valor class Battleship. He is by all means a breaker of expectations and never a victim to being held back by records, which is why I feel he would be ideal in your Battlegroup. I'll have him moved as quickly as possibly from the Missouri to the Harmony should you accept this letter of relocation.
