Megaera helped Mi stand up and supported her while she tried to reorientate herself.
"Welcome to Gaia, Mi-chan"
They walked back slowly to Meg's ship and there she carefully sets Mi down next to the landing gear.
Afterwards she went back into the ship and soon she returned with a box which she took back to Mi.
"Hold still."
She held up Mi's arm and moved it up and down, then pressed on the skin next to the wound. Mi flinched
"Does not appear broken..." she mumbled in herself.
She put her hand over Mi's mouth, grabbed a bottle of pure alcohol from the box and poured some on the wound. Mi's muffled screams could be heard and Meg pressed harder to keep her quiet. She removed her hand and there were tears in Mi's eyes.
She opened the box and took out some bandages and wrapped it carefully around the wound on her arm.
"You should treat the cut on your forehead yourself"
Megaera holds up the palm of her hand where Mi left a bitemark
Mi sobbed a little but noticed the bitemark. "I am sorry for this. I just.. I am sorry, M-Meg-chan. Arigatõ for this." She just chuckled a little and gave Meg a smile before taking a tissue out of the box. Drenching it in alcohol and carefully pressing it against the wound on her forehead. Biting on her lips until the point they almost started to bleed too. Once she got a bandage fixed on the wound, she stood up again and helped Meg put everything back into the box.
She looked at Meg for a bit and then just hugged her tight. Meg could feel what felt like small metal plates and chains under her dress.
Mi was relucant to let go at first but there was no choice. "I know very well why I am here. I have something else in one of the bags.. doesn't matter right now. I doubt we get shot at anyways." She sighed and with quick steps made her way to Meg's ship to grab the fire extinquisher. A shame she couldn't really take a close look at the inside of the ship. Just as quickly she made her way back to Meg and past her to her ship. Luckily the fire was slowly dying by itself and it didn't take her long to extinguish it. Sighing at the sight of the wreck, no way she could get that thing back into the air.
"Meg! I guess it is the best when we grab everything I need from my ship, throw it all into your ship and change the location a bit. There's no hope to get that thing fixed."
Meg was sitting in the sand with her legs pulled up to her chin, while Mi was unloading the equipment out of her ship.
"We will fix it once we get off this planet, do not worry. But for now we should move your equipment to a more secure location.
Maybe we should bury your ship into the sand somehow to make it look less exposed. We can cover my ship in plants, which is why I landed close to the trees here. Be sure not to touch anything here without gloves. It might be poisonous."
She looked around and observed their environment.
"No sign of anything human around here at a first glance, which is good.
Usually they at least leave some obvious traces"
She looked back at Mi, who carried one of the canisters to the Sichel.
Mi had been just listening to Meg's words, becoming rather slow during this. She only noticed that she should hurry up a bit when she caught herself staring quietly at Meg looking around. "Hai, I know. Not going to touch anything without gloves or your agreement. You are the expert.. I guess." She chuckled a little and lifted up the canister again, seeing Meg looking over at her now she gave her a weak smile.
"Uhh.. if you want to, sure. There are just a two more canisters and another box left. I am glad nothing of it is seriously damaged."
She climbed into the Bayonet and picked up one of the two remaining canisters in the cargo hold. The smell of smoke and burned rubber still lingered in the air. The hull had a small breach in the side where the daylight shone through. She walked outside.
There she saw Mi returning to pick up the last canister. "We will need alot of duct tape to fix that." Megaera gestured to the Bayonet
She shifted the weight of the canister so she had a firmer grip and brought it to the other canisters that Mi arranged neatly next to the Sichel.
She chuckled again as response. "I really doubt duct tape will suffice.. that thing is really done for. Good thing we went here with two Ships." She walked over to Meg and took the canister off her. Smiling. "Arigatō, Meg." She told her and put the canister down next to the other canisters. Then she walked with Meg back to the Bayonet to get the last canister and the box together with her.
Megaera walked past the ship and slid her finger across the metal hull. A layer of soot was on her finger after she retracted it and looked at it.
"Well I guess duct tape wont fix this after all. Pity I do not have enough replacement parts on my ship to repair this. We need to get this picked up eventually. I do not want to leave such technology to be salvaged by the tree boys upstairs. For now we can just camouflage this."
Mi thought about it for a bit. Getting this wreckparts off Gaia would be quite complicated. "We should atleast strip it off any valuable stuff, some of the weapons appear intact. The cloaking device.. I don't know. More importantly we will have to get the databank deleted. I am glad there is not much there I would miss." She handed Meg the last canister and picked up the box herself. Calmly walking to the Sichel with her.
