You’re saying we should bend roleplay to be something that fits a 5 year old child server rule. Which in turn amounts to everyone writing shakespeare text. Its a combat simulator where most of the roleplay revolves around combat. Swearing is a part of roleplay, every other word or not.
I swear in all of my stories several times, it reflects a real reaction, or a realistic response. If we’re too immature to handle a few bad words it’s just one more thing that stands in the way of this community being halfway appealing to people that enjoy roleplaying.
You, Wesker, overlooked the post where I said the protecting the ears of children was BS
Alot of people like to think that's true for the sake of protest, & unfortunately, there's been some staff here & there over time that held to that line out of pure convenience...but it's never been true. EVER.
No one with half a brain actually believes that's what the rule exists for & anyone who thinks it is, is a damn fool.

Ok, Maybe "damn fool" was over the top. for that, I apologize for any offense. That was me just being rude. My other directly caustic posts had a point to 'em, but that last line of mine above, was a step over.
The point of it though, is not only valid, but 100% correct.
(the rest of the post, I mean)
The point of this thread is to answer a specific question, which has been answered. It is not about what we considered to be justified, it is not about what we want to see happen and it is not about our positions on the current rules. This thread has served a purpose, everything else is not relevant, especially not an argument over who said what or what point is supposedly being made. This is the reason we have PMs. I suspect no one is going to suddenly change their position on the matter, thus I wouldn't bother getting into a fight over it.
It moved in a lateral direction, yes, right up until it became about personal opinions and then deteriorated along the inevitable tangent of ''You're not listening to me'' which resulted in tensions rising, assumptions, counter assumptions, attacks, veiled insults and so on and so forth. I don't have to close every thread that has been answered. Presumably we can operate like gentlemen and ladies and all have a proper sit down discussion until the thread dies off, without the need to actually close it because it got out of hand.
I admit my part in aggressively egging people on to say their piece...the 1st handful was me trying to show that there's really no loss of comprehension when a letter is replaced here & there...after I made that point, I lightened up (mostly) & thought the thread was going well overall. Disagreements were had, but it's natural to expect to get what I give, so in that respect, I take responsibility for the downward spiral.
For the most part though, I did my best to keep it on topic. Flaws & all.
I'm given to wonder...what would it be like if the server had a "swear-rule" free weekend?
I can guess with a fair bit of accuracy, but y'know, if a group of doctors back in the day didn't ask, "Hey! What's this fungus?" we wouldn't have penicillin today.
On one hand, it could turn out to fall under the "Be careful what you wish for" category, or fall under the "Fortune favors the bold" category.
Either way, a 48 hour risk ain't gonna kill anyone.
Lol, What children to protect from swear words , there are none of them in game ? What little we have left long ago(or grow up) and not becouse of swer words , and new kids dont come here anymore anyway !
