The word "Skald" was used in the Middle-Age. (although we formed it more early)
It names the Minnesinger of Norway and Iceland.
But it is not only a singer... it's also a councillor and sometimes a warrior.
Skaldic verse, conversely, was complex, and usually composed as a tribute or homage to a particular Jarl or King.
The second-best (after Wylf) I knew, was Eyvindr Finnsson, known also as Eyvindr skaldaspillir, or Eyvindr the Plagiarist, the author of Hakonarmal and Haleygjatal
btw... It was called Old Norse Poetry... (We and the Vikings loved it) so the word "Norseland" has a double-meaning...
I can bring you back, to Mandred, the Jarl from Firnstejn, he had a quite good Skald, too.
He was said to be an Elfin... (But I'll keep this secret covered)
Well... about lying about age... there are a number of cases I've met...
They were claiming to be older then they were
I mean, like... she is x but she claims she is y and y equals x plus a reasonable number. But x was usualy given away by a look at the warpaint
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft.
