Also gonna add my credits and thankful words here.
Since I've joined Discovery in 2010 each year was of it's own shape. I've met a couple really nice people and even gained had fun in situations of pain in game, but also pain inRP.
Even I must admit, that the community backwhen was far more openminded, the community nowadays has also it's personality. @Xalrok is doing a very good job as the lead developer of discovery, he defenitely earns my kudos for this.
The patch flow gets quicker and constant and the story development gets quicker and better thought out. Really great. However these kudos goes out to the whole development team.
The @DiscoveryGC Moderators also earn my respect. You are doing a great job in keeping the forums clean and organized.
And also the @DiscoveryGC Admins have done impressive work this year. Numerous events, new concepts and whatelse. The latest idea behind exploration triggered me very much positively.
Even they aren't officially listed as staff, but I gonna do it anyway. Last but least of the staff I want to say thank you to the @Discovery Freelancer Tutorials, commonly still known as the "Angels". You are doing great with helping new players, doing great tutorials and giving good tipps. My applause.
There are also a lot people in the community I wanna say thank you.
First I wanna say thank you to everyone in @The Consensus.
@Doc Holliday - Your stories and writing style are still one of the best and most entertaining in here. I'm looking forward continuing our work in 2019
@Treewyrm - Your just a helpful guy and cool guy, who can do the greatest development in the Freelancer engine. Great to have you in my contacts and I hope we also continue our stuff.
@Hans von Goeben - You've become one of my best buddies in disco. Hope to do again more disco with you next year.
@moebus - You are a very smart guy and I am always happy hearing from you.
@Nerva Regis - Always a good fun to talk to you. Your RP quality is top notch. However, I hope you gonna be a little less salty next year and do something cool for the Zoner house.
@Corpus13 - Thanks for being a part and a nice conversation partner. See you and Keepstar in the next year.
@casualty - Great character, you just a very friendly person who does great RP, when he comes along.
@Temporary Autonomous Zoners - You are just cool guys, doing great RP with you strange shipnames.
@PKPower - You are long time buddy, we had really good talks, conflicts and fun,... nearly everything, but you are part of my disco family.
Also wanna thank @The Collective. Thank you for keeping the alien AI alive and giving them the next step into quality.
@Laz - I can't count the numbers of discussions we've had, but in the end it is all about a game and you earn all my respect. However latest discords were really a great fun.
I could list even more, but my brain is filled with beer, but I wanna also say thanks to all other persons in this community as everyone of you contributes to the mod.
My wishes for the year 2019 are
- that the community gets more openminded again
- that inRP stays inRP and ooRP stays ooRP and nothing of it affects each other
- that personal ooRP issues don't affect RP
- that the community forms to a single body and the school-like coterie formation stops
- that everyone talks to eachother without insults and in a form of respect
- the Consensus gets official
As I have so many people to thank and not enough time to write everything I have in mind, I'll keep it simple.
First of all, I thank the admin team and dev team for all the effort they have put in this game. I hope they are aware that their deeds did not go unrewarded and some people ( most, even ) are grateful for everything they have done. Keep that up and bring us many more years of fun.
I thank the factions I am in, Gaian Guard, Red Hessian Army and Hellfire Legion for giving me tons of fun moments and keeping me entertained and interested for all this time.
I thank the community for being awesome and active after all this time. We all had some ups, some downs, we didn't agree on some things, we didn't like each other sometimes, but at the end of the day, we were still one big happy family and it's the sole reason most of us are still around.
And for the end, one special thank to @Ash , @Fiendflug , @Shalo , @TheSauron , @Reddy, @Laz and @Rantari for being a fun bunch and logging with me all of the time. It's never boring around you guys.
I'll conclude the giveaway with this post, I'll need a bit of time to complete all your wishes but hopefully you can all expect to receive it within a day or two.
I believe I'm too late for the giveway, but I would still like to take the opportunity to thank the developers for creating and continuing to update Discovery Freelancer, the administrators for running events and preventing chaos, and the community for providing a varied in-game experience with enough trolling to be amusing, but not enough to be enraging.
