Alright, my post before about my hybrid nomad should have cleared things up...apparently some people dont want to hear reason.
Visas (AKA Tenacity) is the leader of an outcast cult called "The sisterhood of the light". They spread the word and well, kill people who do not worship nomads...So as part of my nomad's rp story i hang around malta in O-Alpha with another nomad. It seems everyone understands, we are friendly, no one bothers us. we rarely if ever talk unless on a holy crusade for the sisters of the light. (as that is what nomads do) Suddenly an outcast in a rogue gunboat comes out and opens fire. He kills us both obviously because this nomad LF...well...sucks... This pisses me off to no end, yeah yeah, some of you will tell me. "dont stay in o-alpha, stay in nomad systems" My RP story is all based around me staying in alpha, and with the outcasts not on KOS terms with the nomads helps the story fit perfectly. So this one outcast just doesnt get it. He continualy kills me every time i undock and i tried talking to him ooRP but he still kills me. I told him this was our rp story and it fits and all he says is ill kill you every time. This is BS! HES NOT RPING! The outcasts do not KOS nomads so why should he be able to?
The problem is, if i start this char over.
1. I will have to make up a new story, and this one has taken me four hours to write at present moment, simply because of all the background information i have to look up on the nomads, and coming up with all of this stuff from scratch.
2. I will be stranded, every faction in the whole universe will be hostile to me, including nomads and the wild because i cannot get my repped fixed unless i am a keeper.
1st of all that was me, you should have left the system after I killed you the first time.
Outcasts and nomads are NOT allied, (as you tried to imply) nor are they friendly, nor are they neutral.
Outcasts have a respect for nomads, that doesnt mean they will let one eat their childrens brains.
I don't care who brought you there, or who you think you are, if you try to infest the people of malta, I WILL hunt you down, one by one, in role play.
your yelling of YOUR OORP YOUR OORP YOU CANT RP in private chat didnt help either.
as a matter of fact I RP a nomad hybrid myself, and i tell you what, you aren't doing a very good job, especially if you think any kind of human will support you.
Yeah, err, remember yesterday? The Sisterhood of Light or whatever you call it, decided to 'purge' everyone in NY. Right in front of Manhattan, too. So basically, you were doing the same yesterday, except, umm, we didn't whine. We never will. We'll just bring our fleet like we did yesterday. You enjoyed that, no? ZERO losses on our side. I sure did.
afraid to say - when you fly a nomad ship, it comes with a certain bit of reputation. for example, no matter what RP you write on the boards - ( which most characters are not aware of ... in character ) - you will be denied docking with even free for all ports ( like freeports ) - and they will defend it actively.
only if you show ingame that you are no threat you may be allowed more than a common nomad. - now .... you said, you hardly ever speak, - how should another character know about your intentions? - the character cannot know it, unless you make him know it. - characters do not read stories on the boards, they are for players. - a character knowing them all would be considered metagaming.
i dont know why nomads never utter a single thing lately. - cannot be too hard. the last attack i endured on Cheshire lasted quie a long time. and not a single *emote* or *thought* was uttered all through the over 10 minutes lasting chase ( i m disappointed ).
if a nomad does not speak, he is to be considered down to what he represents ingame. - so if you fly a nomad LF, you are.... a nomad. - unless you speak and explain inchar. if you don t, you cannot ( should not ) blame others for thinking you are a nomad.
keep in mind. the player name and tag is what chars don t see. a character can see the ID by scanning and the tag ( only that big of the nametag that actually represents your affiliation ). thats very little information in that case.
i don t play an outcast, nor have i much understanding of their history. - but i believe that a nomad warship ( and a fighter is a warship for htat matter, its a fully armed ship that raped quite some human ships in the nomad war ) out of their ZoI ( thats the little space around the graveyard ) can be considered a threat.
Continuously killing upon undocking counts as re-engagement actually, and that's a clear rule violation in worst form. Unless each time has been in pre-defined time set in rules and so on.
Understand that relation between Outcasts and Nomads is mostly known only to factions out there and independents that read these forums. Those people that do not usually have no idea about it and as a result open fire regardless. We've had such as well, but in time such "renegade" elements were dealt with. So don't be mad about it - speak to Outcast factions and see if the issue can be solved on various levels.
Now from roleplay point of view is that if you do things right, i.e. story and in-game roleplay - you get accepted into faction and get reputation set as well as access to wide range of nomad ships and their equipment. That's something of a seal of approval if you will and there is nothing hard in getting it. If you have any more questions about it feel free to PM me again.
Unfortunately I do not know the details of what happened so I could be wrong about the situation.
@Jinx: Nomads aren't very talkative, cannot be forced to tell a tale while chasing someone or leaking *toughts* constantly (especially when concentrated on combat), keep that in mind. You know, they aren't that stupid.
The fact that an Outcast flat out told me i was welcome there can be a pretty misleading comment. Especially when EVERY SINGLE OUTCAST THERE is not firing on me EXCEPT YOU! Every outcast in that system has no problem with me being there, you are the only one. Now why is that? Am i out of line in my RP? no, it is you. Why dont you go join the LSF?
the boards are totally meaningless. - what matters is what you do ingame. you can write the utmost brilliant stories here - but if your ingame RP sucks, - your character becomes a farce. i can rather live with ppl that do not write anything about their chars, but present a convincing and appropriate to the role play - ingame, instead of ppl that write fancy stories that cannot be RPed.
if someone does not understand your point, - try to make it transparent for him/her ingame - by roleplaying. if that doesn t help. maybe your RP ambitions are too high and you must adjust it.
The fact that my char is a nomad makes it very hard to rp my story, for one, nomads rarely talk, if at all, and for two their speech is in very cryptic speech. how do i tell him my whole story like that? my best attempt was to oorp my predicament but he wouldnt hear it.

Wow, what's that statement about LSF supposed to mean? Huh? Nice start.
I don't know which one of the nomads you were, but i did tell one of you not to fly around Malta in that ship... I mean, c'mon! Nomads in Alpha stick to the O-90 jump hole...
