It happened. What did not happen was on-site balance. The refusal of the event staff to balance on site baffles me a little, as it is pretty much bread-and-butter of any slot-based event.
EDIT: Actually, you are right. I was convinced we had two more gunboats signed up. My bad. My point still stands though, both with the gunboats, and with other signed up people plain not attending.

There was 1 GB listed on bret side, and 3 on the other side. It was not balanced since the beginning.
Looking at this from BAF side, no one expected to win. Some of us even had some fun. But we hoped for at least some equality.
Having three GBs on one was really one sided and influenced event quality a lot, even more than 2xNovas. That's not up to players. Players play, or even gank (me too). We had event masters present and with all the respect, overwhelming GB power was their fault.
After noticing this flaw they even said two BAF snubs should switch to GBs. Ok, but that's something we'd do before event, if was possible.
There's not a lot I can say here as a guy on a transport who wasn't running the show, but yeah, there needed to be an effort made to balance things on site.

lol
Novas don't need fixing. Just need to learn to move. I have a poor aim when it comes to slight strafing, Considering i fired probbably well over 80+ Dual novas and only successfully killed 8-9 people. 334 ping isn't exactly helpful when guns are around, So what better way to try and hurt them, than with others.
I will say i appreciate to the baf that stayed alongside despite getting hammered. After all, it was all for fun, or should've been since we're going to lose the base anyhow. Especially the lone Gunboat and the Rescue ship that was getting beaten on all the time.
And as for the engine health, yeah... It needs a little tweaking since the base was far too close for us to really do any sucess in stopping the rescue ships.

If you aid us, and you aid them, you are the enemy.
If you do not aid them, you are worthless outside of extortion potential.
If you aid us, you will be treated with respect.
Nice event, though the GBs were certainly unbalanced. Also, thanks to the devs for including The Mollys in an actual event! Kudos to everyone involved, including that dual nova BAF bomber. While it was a troll loadout, dual novas are more acceptable in respawn-enabled events.
What I would recommend next time is for the respawn points to be a bit farther off, so it isn't so awkward typing in local with your enemies nearby. Forced balance is a controversial topic, but part of this battle was made sub-par by a lack of oversight regarding that.
