Good day
The Cambridge is in need of service and with the Bretonian's in no position to do so. I wish to inquire the ESRD's and LSF's, capabilities to come up with innovative ideas on Washington Shipyard to effectively maximize the usage of the Power Core. Its current power output allows it to continue serving the Republic in an almost full capacity. The sixteen year old vessel has had many patch jobs over the years serving Liberty, Perhaps with some time and a dream we can get this old girl running at one hundred again.

Your communication is an interesting one. I will start off by saying that Chesapeake and Juneau are running full-tilt to replace and maintain our current line of vessels in combat, and I'm sure that Norfolk and Washington are more than doing the same for the Navy, especially after the loss of the Fairmont and Whitefield battlegroups. I additionally take some issue with your request as you state yourself that the vessel is already running at nearly full-efficiency, something that is practically a bragging right compared to some of the vessels taken off the front-line at New London.
I can suggest that perhaps we might be able to look into your project and offer some consultation, but at this point offering a mooring section at Chesapeake or any significant resources to your project when our hands are full with the Bering operation is simply out of the question. Our efforts are stretched far too thin to offer any material assistance to a vessel that doesn't seem to necessarily need it, and while I cannot speak for the Navy, I'm sure that they will be in a similar boat. In all honesty, I would suggest queuing your 'old girl' up for a standard refit at Norfolk and reporting to one of the many needed fronts in the meantime.

Your swift reply is admirable given your situation in Bering, Harmony and Unioner forces are known to work together and while I have no doubts the LSF can handle their own out there I must say I am concerned for your operation considering the combined might of both Harmony and Unioners could cause some heavy losses. Yes I do admit it is selfish to have a warship running at almost full capacity and wanting it to be at its fullest potential but I do have my reasons and that sole reason is for the Republic of Liberty. I will take your offer of consultation during this project and should you need assistance in Bering I would be willing to come to your aid though I am sure you can take care of yourself.

Colonel Faux:
Good evening. This is Vice Admiral Davies. I apologize for the lateness in communication, but the Second Carrier Task Group has been engaged in fighting in the northern New London corridor since it first arrived, and I have been needed to coordinate our defenses with Bretonian command.
As to your request, I must first echo the LSF agent's statement insofar that the yards at Washington are swamped with the laying down of the Mount Rainier and the Guadalcanal, in aid to replace the lost Whitefield and Fairmont battlegroups. Long-term mooring and working at Washington for the foreseeable future is effectively impossible. However, that is not to say that your request cannot be attended to.
While I hold my doubts about the feasibility of replacing a power-core without a significant draw-down of the ship's operational capacity, and the necessity of doing so in the midst of wartime, I will ultimately leave that decision to the officers at Naval Yard Juneau. The crews there are busy with the repair and upkeep of several of the damaged Seventh Fleet's Archer-class cruisers, but those jobs should be completed in a timely enough fashion to attend to your needs. If they find that the project can be completed without significant delay to other jobs, and to a significant benefit to the Navy, then I see no reason why such a project cannot proceed.
I hope I have answered your request to your satisfaction. With regards,
Nathaniel Davies

I do suppose this endeavor can wait until the war against Gallia is won, you cant blame a Captain that wants his ship running in the highest output possible. With that being said, The Cambridge has always focused more on the criminal elements of Liberty but perhaps its time for that to change. I hereby request official orders to support the war efforts.

If your ship proves to be an adequate help to the war-front, we might yet be able to find it some place to receive refit and upgrade. For now, TacOps and LIBCOMEAST is in dire need of support against the Separatist and Alster Union forces within the systems of Bering and Hudson. Recommend you RV with LSF forces stationed at Phase Line Alpha demarcated by the Battlecruiser Lehigh in the Bering sector, and receive further orders from LN and LSF tactical officers in the field. Godspeed, Colonel.

The Cambridge is honored to aid the Liberty Security Force with the Bering situation, we will make our departure ASAP. Our refit on Norfolk is almost completed but I will let the Technicians know we have new standing orders and I am sure they will kick it into high gear to get us back out there. See you soon.
