My name is Sabrina Iltzmann, Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Malta. By now, I'm sure you're well aware of the group you know well as the 'Outcasts', or the 'Maltese Nation', a group that openly despises the Maquis, indeed all Gallic-born factions, with a seemingly glowing passion. Rest assured that we are not them, as sending this transmission would be a mere taunt otherwise. However, I believe that there are many opportunities for our people to work together to see our goals be met.
I have been elected as the diplomatic representative of the Republic of Malta, a separatist faction devoted to the overthrow of the corrupted Maltesian governing body. We already openly cooperate with several Tau-based factions you may know of, such as the Republic of Crayter, the Council to a lesser extent and the IMG at times. Indeed, many of the people the Maltese Nation sees as threats, we see as potential allies against the spread of the corrupted.
I'm opening this channel in the hope that the wish for cooperation may be mutual. Should the Maquis have any questions of the Republic, I would be more than happy to answer them. Until then, I will await a response on this frequency in the hope of gaining yet another valuable friend for the Republic, and by extension the Maltese people.
Destinataire(s):Sabrina Iltzmann, Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Malta Opérateur:Emilie Moineau Rang:Capitaine Niveau de Sécurité:High Sujet:Potential Friendship Description:
Bonjour Sabrina Iltzmann, Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Malta,
I am Capitaine Emilie Moineau, I deal with alot of the Maquis comms.
After listening to your transmission, i've spoken with Jean-Paul Courbet himself and i've an answer awaiting for you.
We are well aware of the Maltese Nation. One thing Jean-Paul dislikes is the fact the Maltese Nation, Outcasts enjoy slave trade, and slavery. That the Outcasts make profit of people who are not wealthy, young, innocent and too weak to stand up and fight. Jean-Paul wants slave trade stopped, if it comes with any sort of alliance with any Outcast Nation.
So if you want to have any sort of opportunity or agreement with us. One thing you need to do is stop the Outcast Slave Trade.
If you can do that, or work towards stopping slavery within the Maltese planets, then we can work something out.
Also what do you know about the Maltese Opposition Army? I'd personally be interested in hearing your thoughts?
It's a pleasure to hear from the Maquis, and I absolutely understand your inquiries and concerns. I am pleased to say that the Republic values each individual's right to self-determination and holds freedom and independence highest among all priorities. As such, slavery within the Republic is outlawed, and we have no interest in allowing such an ideal to further cement itself within Maltesian society.
As for the Maltese Opposition Army, I'm afraid we don't hold a particularly solid view on their cause. While we honor their goal of replacing the Maltese leadership as it is our goal as well, the Republic has noted their actions as being far more brute than the Republic would ever safely employ. Aside from one spot of contact between the Armed Forces and MOA in Aragon and a short piece of concerning news of an attack committed by them, the Republic has not had enough contact with them to safely assume a concrete stance.
We are a distinctive Maquis cell called Action révolutionnaire and we received your message a couple of days ago. We were not sure it was meant to reach our particular group in the first place, but since we conduct our own diplomatic activities we assumed that answering your courteous communication could be a sound idea.
Some of your men may have met us if they recently ventured into this pumping artery we Gauls call AuTauroute. We believe you have too much paperwork at hand and you seem too sophisticated a lady to enjoy roaming such harsh places yourself. However, if you ever wanted to see mo... er... Let us please stay focused, shall we?
After collective consultation, we have several questions for you.
First, are you allowed to hand us a list of States and organizations that intend to or do recognize the Republic of Malta as the legitimate Maltese ruling body?
Then, what is your administration's stance on social and economic policies? Do you condone free-market and financial capitalism? Should you prevail against the "Nazione Maltese" in the future, would you allow mighty corporations to operate within your sovereign territory?
Last but not least, what kind of relationship would you like to set up between our two entities?
We hope you will be interested in discussing siriopolitical matters with us. Until then, we wish you a pleasant week, Madam Secretary.
Esteemed representative of the Action révolutionnaire,
Indeed this channel is open to any individual or group that may represent any amount of the Maquis. I'm unsure if our people have met in space as of yet, but I suppose if they have not the men and women of the Armed Forces will be looking to make a friendly impression for you and yours.
In any event, you had questions.
The Republic is, quite obviously, not recognized by many within the Nation, though there are some who see us as the more legitimate successor to the prior attempt at governance. Some families on the surface, and even some off world, see the value of the Republic's way of thought and have also pledged what support they can. The Republic of Crayter, a staunch ally of ours and a loyal friend in these times of war, also sees the Republic as a preferable alternative to the radical authoritarianism and corruption of the central Maltese governing parties. However, beyond them we are wildly unrecognized. Aside from a few scattered military conflicts and diplomatic communications, the Republic is still a small entity.
In opposition to the Nation's firm stance on opposing foreigners, we see the value in working with the outside. The Republic does indeed have plans to invite the corporations of Sirius, and Gallia once the war is concluded, to take part in trade with the Maltese people, however with the Tau systems still embroiled in war we expect it will be a time before any such agreements will be fruitful enough for general commercial interests.
This offer will also extend to the Maquis, and given the support of the Crayter Military and Council Navy in the Taus we believe such can be a profitable offer for both sides. However, that is not my department to talk about. Such would have to be done by the Department of Commerce, which I'm sure Ms. La Huerta would be very welcome towards. Beyond that, I'm sure the Armed Forces would rejoice in cooperative efforts against the Gallic Royal war machine.
I hope this answers your questions so far. Should you have any further questions, I will do my best to answer them once more.
