TACTICAL SITUATION : Bretonia remains as the primary focus of the Marine Royale. It endures still, after years of aggression, for reasons unclear to us. Absolute pig-headedness can only account for so much obstination. While this fortitude is respectable, Gallia tires of this prolonged conflict. Opération Castillon will be the strategic umbrella under which all our efforts against Bretonia are coordinated.
DESIRED FINAL OUTCOME : the unquestionable military defeat of the Bretonian Armed Forces, in order to secure the most favourable position at the negotiation table. PRIORITY 1 : Capturing planet New London. PRIORITY 2 : Routing the Bretonian Armed Forces, by sheer force of arms, sabotage, military influence and asphyxiation. PRIORITY 3 : Preserving the Bretonian infrastructure and population.
LOCATION: New London and neighbouring systems.
PREDICTED ENEMY FORCES : Exhausted and severely diminished first-rate fleet, still somehow capable of fielding new platforms. Excellent training among the crews, and very capable and experienced commanders. Threat level remains high. REQUIRED ALLIED FORCES : the Trinité fleet is at our disposal for this operation. Although the Beuvray has been incapacitated, our allies in the Custodi have dispatched the Athos and her accompanying fleet to support us. Rear echelon formations include the Guillestre in Leeds and the La Riche in Edimbourg. Edimbourg hosts Issoudun drydock for immediate maintenance of our capital assets.
TIME : No time frame. This is the summit of our efforts, and there can be no backing down now.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT : the Etat-major maintains the high-intensity, total war stance in accordance with royal orders. Attrition and caution are no longer in the order of the day. Spare no asset.
