The veritable ship moored with one of the yards in Aland. Ironic, considering it played a key part in its fall, appearing as the executioner that destroyed vital control parts of the station, with the precision of a scalpel in a surgeon's hands and the strength of a hammer to a lonely nail. Meallan walked alongside Dixon as they entered the ship. It's captain, Richard Alby, nodded at both of them and needlessly directed them towards the engine section, a place they knew very well.
"So, Dixon. We got remove this bretonian sack of bolts we hard-wired to this lady."
Dixon nodded, obviously absorbed by his own thoughts. Meallan opened the last hatch before entering the engine control room, where several displays and command consoles appeared. Two officers quickly saluted and resumed their work, verifying the data readouts of their controlled shut-down. Pulling one of them to side, Meallan noticed a small fluctuation in the secondary power array levels. Dixon, pulling another display, started to input several commands, displaying an overall system audit.
"And she seems to have a leak, somewhere. Good thing we're replacing this."
"The nacelles are bent as well. Too much output."
Nodding, Meallan smirked and slapped the grey faced Dixon.
"You got twenty men and my blueprints to make a brand engine, custom and tailor made. I'll send them in and issue the machining orders. Meanwhile.."
He waved his hand around, in the air.
"Let's check the rest. I want to see how the old girl is handling another war."
Inspection lasted about 2 hours, and in the end Dixon asked only one question.
"As I understand, the engine should be reliable and able to use only bretonian military fuel, Am I Right?"
Mellan nodded in agreement.
"Very well then. We'll do our best, sir. However, the creation of new engine will take a lot of time, and i think you're aware of it. Anyway, we will begin our work as soon as possible, sir. You can count on us"
After his words, Dixon nodded to Mellan and went to his new workplace.
Three days later, the first scheme of new engine was finally created. As Mellan ordered, it was custom and reliable engine. Dixon sent a copy of scheme to Dagon and closed his laptop.
