I too often get disgusted or annoyed with the way new players are treated. If any new players happen to be on the forums and reading this, feel free to PM me and i'll help them out if I can. Some new players do take the time to read the forums before properly starting out, so you never know:)And those new players could just end up being your next good faction RP'er, so I always find it pays to help out new people.
This makes me want to join the Angels..I see this quite often too..I see new people new to disco being bad mouthed and threatend of banning when they have no idea whats going on..and instead of that person PMing them to understand the situation they just OOC in sytem like crazy...I didn't mind at first now I hate it..all I see in NY is OOC and I won't go there anymore..I say we make the starting point in conneticut..or something there is almost no RP in NY anymore.. I dunno just makes me mad..
- if you help a noob with a trade run, list the help given on an 'unofficial angels' thread, and ask the noob to confirm the help given on same thread, then the angels can pay ya for helping them to usher new players around - and today's new player is tomorrows faction leader.

I have other Characters that I play on.
But I help newbies, No matter what character I am on.
You don't always see us as [The_Angles]Name, but we're still here.
Some of us more visible, some of us invisible.
There are advantages for both modes.
I see Puck Visible quite often. I'm on "invisible" mode currently
and I was there when HMS-Churchill and GMG had their encounter.
I know what happened.
I was also there "invisibly" when a Player "Newbie" came into the server about a week ago.
We had some great times together, explaining RP, and a basic setup.
As well as how to make money to be self supporting.
I log in last night and I got a PM from a guy I've never met, and he says "Hi! This is "Newbie""
He has restarted his character to have Firstname.Lastname and is following a Cop's path.
I tell you what, seeing him go from "newbie" to a fledgling Rper, was worth all the grief
I've had as a "visible" Angel, and participate on the forums.
Just because you don't see [The_Angels]Name, doesn't mean we aren't there.
And I say that anyone who isn't part of the Angels, but are still helping new people...

I have only been playing this game a short time but i have for the most part found most of the players not a bad bunch of people and the group I am playing with are trying to form the Shadow Outcast Brigade have received advice and help from a lot of other players. Please do not let the few who feel they have to be rude to prove they are uber l33t ruin the chance for the decent players to show new players how much fun this game can be. As i said I and my group have only been here a short time but we are having fun and have become FL addicts and hopefully we will be here for a long time.

I explained to him the situation in PM. He chose to continue to threaten telling me as a Merc i had no RP reason to be with the trader. Em so a merc cant be hired for escort by a trader? Remember noob language is ussually " LOL, ROFL, and all the other leet speak." If they leet in system chat chances are they need help even if they dont know it. DOnt be rude to them they will treat you like some clown that walks up and starts running his fingers in Diablo. So be civil thay are more likely to listen.
This happens in ALL MP games, ALL Genres, EVERYTHING. Always everyone takes it out on the noob.
They shoot them first in FPS's, they ignore them in MMORPGS, everyone gives them stupid comments in space sims...
