HAH! Me and the 101'st bomber wing says otherwise. Come visit the omicrons sometime... You'll be evicted faster than you can say "WHA WHA, i wanna have my BC boosted!".
No ship should be effective against all other ships, and every ship should have something about it which makes it difficult to fly or get your head around.
LF - weak!
HF - somewhat vulnerable, somewhat brick-y
Bomber - somewhat vulnerable, very brick-y
Gunboat - huge target for not that much more firepower
Cruiser - not much more firepower than gunboat, but much less maneuverable
Battlecruiser - at a loss
Battleship - cloddy, ineffective against fighters
Even if you gave the BC 20 turrets that still would make it difficult to hit. Secondly it was goddamn suggestion. Stop regulating everyone with something bigger than a gunboat as some RPless cap whore. It's like when the established members of my old forum who weren't crucified back when they were no0bs do it to everyone new now. Why the hell should everyone have to seek your approval meanwhile you were allowed to act like a fag saying and doing whatever you please? This is much like how (sometimes) indies (no matter what they fly) are being treated worse than enemies by some faction members.
If you don't like the topic express how you feel about it with reasonable opinion not with dumb ass prejudice and retarded assumptions.
You know, I'd wish you guys would stop saying "oh, but 2 of ship x can kill 1 of ship y" - how can you say that? Everything in combat depends on a pilot.. not the ship itself. Yes, two bombers can take down a battleship, IF the battleship pilot lacks combat skill and IF the two bomber pilots are -very- good. Likewise, a battleship can take out three bombers quite easily if the bombers are unorganized in their tactics.
So you got beat by a cruiser in your battlecruiser? Maybe you need to train more. Maybe you need to look over your weapons loadout again. Maybe your opponent was -just good- (yes, there are such people).
Back a couple weeks ago in an organized fight between the SA/LN and LR, the LN pumped out two dreads. They were not the first to die. The first dread, actually, took out numerous fighters before dying. I'd call that a fair trade.
So, battlecruisers are fine. Cruisers are fine. Gunboats are fine. I'd go far enough to say that -all- caps are fine (maybe with the exception of certain models). Stop, really.
By the way, Zero, tone it down with the hostility. It doesn't help.

Yeah that's right actually. But also the targeting systems is vintage and is more or less designed for the vanilla ships but that may not be true. I'll sdsee if I can get my buddy to train with me (when ever he decides to bring his ass back on).
As far as hostilities go, sure. I'll try to tone it down. Sorry it's just the last times I was active on the forums just used to 5 to 6 asses jumping on me for the slightest thing and hounding me about it for months (people there can stretch a thread for weeks with their bitching) so I may have reacted out of an acquired reflex.
Either way don't think I'm jerk or something. I'm arguably one of the most understanding guys in any of the communities I've been on. Just slowly trying to understand the situation from unbiased point of view now.
Battle-Cruiser should have the same armour protection and power out put of a standard cruiser.
BC were originally design for speed, and agility, not to go toe to toe against enemy capitol ships.
