Nazi Germany was not an empire. It was only called the Third Reich colloquially, same as the British Empire, which was actually a kingdom. This was because Germany, same as Britain, had conquered a vast territory and incorporated a myriad of different nations within their state. But Nazi Germany was technically a republic, despite being under the rule of a totalitarian dictator. Germany was an empire not in WWII, but in WWI, and that was years before the National-Socialist Party came into existence. These two periods should not be confused. The German Empire draws its tradition from the Holy Roman Empire of the German People, which existed from 962 until 1806. It was built on the tradition of Charlemagne's Frankish Empire, which tried to re-establish the Western Roman Empire. This was long before the Nazis and the Nazi party came to be after the German Empire had already been abolished.
I don't know how and why you would call the Rheinland Empire a Nazi state. Is it because they are German!? Not all Germans are Nazis, you know! What about the Kusari Empire? And the Corsair Empire? Are they also Nazis?

Seriously, guys, stop.
Imperial Rheinland was founded by three guys who'se real-world political views are about as far away from Nazis as possible.
If this turns into some weird hot-take bandwagon that Imperial Rheinland players are Nazis, we're going to need some moderators here. I did say that this was getting toxic. This train of thought seems like it's aimed at demotivating people from playing.

I don't understand why wehraboos are attracted by the Rheinland empire. Afaik wehraboos are some kind of soft Neonazis. But Hitler himself despised the German Empire and laughed in Ex-Kaiser Wilhelm's general direction.
(And then got his country ruined even harder than Willy)

You do realize that fascist Germany did not have a king or royal family right? The current Imperialist Rheinland is a return to monarchism. Have people forgotten that Kusari is an Empire and Bretonia a Kingdom?
Actually, there is something that is not clear to me. Is the Rheinland Empire absolutist, or constitutional? And if the latter, is it also parliamentary?

Constitutional, parliamentary, with caveats. The caveat being that the Monarch has the absolute authority to institute anti-corruption methods, should corruption be provable, along with dismissing the heads of federal agencies. Law enforcement is also relatively empowered. Slightly more direct crown intervention into the affairs of the state than in Bretonia, but not by a significant margin. Crown mostly intercedes in domestic policy, not foreign policy. The crown is seen as an anticorruption body, as it cannot be corrupted (its wealth and prosperity is entirely drawn from set lands, properties, and wages, and cannot be tempted by private sector kickbacks, like an elected politician can).
Direct democracy exists for the elections for the Empire's equivalent of a Senate and a House of Commmons. There are various chancellors, and systems have their own local administrations. There is not any equivalent of a president - that would be the role taken by the emperor and his retinue.
Oh, and heavily protectionist economics. Non-interventionist foreign policy aimed at the borderworlds, and not the claims of other Houses.
It's much more of a wealthfare state than the old Rheinland republic was, although with 'service by requirement' features. That was what we all collectively decided upon in the imperial government.
