How many of you read stories and enjoy reading them?

For the longest time I've wondered if people's writing genuinely attracts viewers depending on the character/person or if it's mostly ignored. I personally have a few favorites I like to read stories from. To me it's interesting when I'm bored and I see it. But I wonder if people just click on them by accident or because they see the name of a big disco figure or if there's intent.

I feel like, unless you're trying to make a statement, writing stories is for developing your characters or that of the people you're collaborating in. It's not really a popularity contest where you have to appease and gain points with everyone that reads them. Do your own thing.

The only stories I've ever enjoyed were those written by @Sonja because he or she is a captivating writer.

But I think their main purpose is to assist with SRP's, build faction lore or because someone just enjoys writing down headcanon about their character. Most of this stuff you can find out just by talking to the person who wrote the story. Speaking with the writer about their story is usually a lot faster than reading it. I've noticed a lot of people in this community tend to make unnecessarily lengthy posts (especially on communications channels) and I just don't like wasting my time and prefer getting straight to the point so yeah. I don't read many people's stories as a result but I do enjoy talking about them with their writers.

I usually read some stories for the purpose of current situation understanding, where it's necessary, but to be absolutely honest, I don't like them with very few exceptions.
