I've long assumed that the Jump holes are later generation Jump Gates, which need very, very little physical architecture to support. Much more elegant than a human Gate, or even the Supergates, these were set up in the waning days of the Dom'Kavosh, right before they left..
yea - but all we think that they can or cannot is totally made up. its a shame that the little background story was all there is about the nomads. - regarding from the official information we have, they can be all - totally mental, brilliant, dumb, clever, smart - whatever we want them to be.
little is said about them being very bright as little as there is said about them being only servants without much of their own interests.
lets see what story is made up - and how it will affect our roleplay. maybe there is more to read about them from official sides - its surprising how information sometimes pops up after some time ( like the little nomad history or the design concepts of that guy that designed some of the FL ships )

No. Dumb aliens wouldn't be able to do what Nomads did in SP, i.e. infesting houses and sending them into war against each other without anyone really noticing. So no, not "whatever".
Design concepts and story snippet were made by different people as far as I know.
Them destroying Sol still makes no sense though. If anything, it would be of benefit to the Nomads for the Coalition to arrive in the Sirius sector and wipe it clean. They had no business with the Solar System. I hope that's cleared up or something, cause the whole "Nomads blow up the Sun" storyline has more holes in it than a pound of swiss cheese.
I don't think Ill ever be able to get anyone to understand that the extended intro is most likely concept art, or just an extra. I mean, I have given facts and proof that the extended intro does not coincide with the campaign mode, but no one has listened. Oh well.
Proof 1: News articles in SP mode indicates that Rhienland uncovered the Nomads on an expedition. This expedition took place HOW long after the extended intro?
Proof 2: If the Nomads were there when we fled Sol, then chances are, they would be in Sirius when we arrived.
Proof 3: If they were in Sirius all along, why did it take 800 years or so for them to decide to try to take over?
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs

100%, actually, SED.
100%.
I just don't even try anymore. I ignore any suggestions otherwise.

Not sure what you are 100%ing, but.. when we have such a large group of people with conflicting ideas, it kinda causes problems with mod development, and development of the story.

The extended intro is like a deleted scene in a movie. it was just taken out by the project leaders before the game was finished. Thus, has no involvement with the game that was released.
