If you require evidence, you may request such via PM from a Staff member. Only the accused or an official faction leader of the accused person's faction may request such. Once you have the evidence, and if you wish to dispute it, you may post in the Sanction Thread below. Do not continue PM'ing a staff member, as that will result in your Appeal being denied. If you PM a staff or post in the sanction thread and you are not directly involved, you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbors, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of GM Right #CTE 750AE
For future record
This was a freak unpreventable accident shoot down.
During an intense RP setup Dread and pack of friendly IFF snub fight in dark matter storm where you can't see ships you're shooting at in turret view.
On top of that I rep-hacked Zoners to be green just as the Xeno attackers just minutes before the exchange...
What are the odds
Sorry to the guy that strayed too close and got caught in the crossfire, I had no idea it happened until sanction arrived 5 days later, you would get some solid RP apology otherwise.
Sanction accepted
Infernal's reputation as a cheesy idealist character not tarnished I hope.
I'm going to post here because I was directly involved. It seemed pretty obvious that this was an honest mistake on the part of the target of this sanction, who was struggling to shoot several Green IFF'd hostiles in a nebula with no visibility.
Edit: I hope you didn't go too hardcore into the unlucky guy's funds.
Thanks Karst
You know up until this arrived I was 100% convinced I managed to shoot one of you down with secondaries without seeing you, and was all proud of myself...
Turns out I just suck and shot a poor stray innocent ship.
EDIT: no clue how much I had on the character
probably wasn't that much
As another participant of that fight, I can confirm that it was happening in the cloud in Alberta next to Ontario jump hole. Transport or whatever it was jumped in and was nearly instantly killed.
Not saying that sanction should or should not be lifted. It's just to provide additional information and to confirm what was already stated for the staff to consider.
As I just explained in my report, I was absolutely not on rage, also I had no time to check anything around when entered Alberta, the goal was to let the owner of Infernal know about the rules, since as I mentioned it was just an instant death after jumped into the system. I had no time to scan or even to look around. I assume the mentioned fight happened exactly at the entry point where I jumped to.
Since its obvious that it happened by a mistake, also as participants declared the circumstances in that region gave no chance for that character to notice I am not part of the fight (didnt know there was a fight), I would gladly agree to lift the penalty, in case my opinion matters.
I was also writing in the report that I am absolutely ok with a warning without any kind of penalty, so in case this sanction is under consideration after the given details by the participants, as the reporter I would gladly vote on refunding Infernal.
