User ID: Anton Strout Recipient: OS&C Board of Directors Subject: Enterprise Luxury Liner Greetings!
I am reaching out to you to discuss the possibility of the purchase of one of your used luxury liners. As a bit of background, I am the captain of the B|-BCV-Oldenburg which is a Pitbull, more commonly known as a "Pirate Train". I am employed by Bristol Constructions and Manufacturing, which focuses on base building, trading, and mining industries.
While it may seem a bit of an unusual request, please hear me out. Recently my crew and I took a breathtaking and awe-inspiring cruise with OS&C through Kusari and the Sigmas to the Luxury Liner Hawaii where we spent a few days before coming back to Liberty space. As we had never been to any of the Kusari systems (due to the restrictions on the transport we currently fly) or on an OS&C cruise it was truly an enlightening and wonderful experience. As part of this we had several tours of the ship and came to appreciate the comforts and ruggedness of your liners.
After returning from the cruise my crew set to work with a renewed vigor and efficiency that I hadn't seen from them before. When the crew and I discussed their efforts it was pointed out that comfortable crew are happier crew.
During our daily line out meetings we discussed the status of the Oldenburg and maintenance that was needed to resume our regular transportation duties. After listening to reports from my crew over several days I realized that the Oldenburg was reaching the end of it's journey for us. I initially recieved the ship used, and have been captain of it for several years now. I estimate that the Oldenburg, while it has served us well, is well on it's way to retirement.
Given the type of ship the Oldenburg is and the type of work it does I started looking for a replacement for it. Initially I considered a replacement in the same line as the Oldenburg as it was rugged and had previously served us well, however there were serious shortcomings in the shipline. Also the restrictions on entrance into Gallic and Kusari space resulted in limiting future opportunities for Bristol, which caused me to discard it quickly. I also considered the Liberty "Bison" or the Rheinland "Uruz", however after feedback from my crew I started looking at other options. My crew and I were so enamored by luxury liners and the level of comfort in the crew quarters we saw, as well as the potential ruggedness and cargo capacity that we decided we would like to pursue that route instead.
I would think it is obvious that a new Luxury Liner is unsuitable for us, as well as a waste of a good ship with many years of passengers ahead of it. However, a used liner, possibly nearing the end of usable passenger service, would be perfect for our purposes. I would expect the liner to still have many more years of potential service left in it as a regular cargo transport, while still providing comforts above that of regular transports.
If we can come to an agreement on the purchase of one of your used liners my only request would be the removal of all passenger quarters, leaving only the required crew quarters.
Seperately, I will coordinate the fitting of two docking modules for the express purpose of hauling small miner craft as part of Bristol's operations, as well as the necessary armaments and weaponry necessary for regular transport after receiving the liner.

We're always happy to help Sirius arrive wherever they're going in style and comfort, though I admit that it pains me to think of a magnificent liner reduced to a mere ore hauler! Still, I'd be lying if I said we didn't have ships being phased out of commission that wouldn't be an upgrade from your Pitbull. Every time I see one of those trains, I think that it's more rust than starship, but I digress.
The way I see it, there are two main options for wanting a luxury cargo liner (there's a sentence I thought I'd never type!). The Oasis class is the cheaper option and less maintenance intensive. We use them for our house to house commuter routes and they're designed to move people and cargo quickly and effectively with fewer amenities. However, they'd be a dramatic step down in terms of total cargo capacity compared to your train. A lot of the ship's internal bulkheads are structural, so you'd be looking at a massive refit of the vessel if you want something approaching a cavernous cargohold. The alternative is tucking your wares into individual staterooms, which is exceptionally labor intensive.
Your other option is, of course, my beloved Enterprise class. The whole fleet, including my Breezewood is admittedly approaching the end of their operational lives. BUT given the enhanced automation on Enterprise vessels, you could probably get the same total cargo space out of one as a Pittbull. Be advised that the Enterprise, as much as I love the class, handles like a brick with threading tradelanes being particularly problematic. It is NOT a vessel you pick if your intention is to do much fighting or running from said fight. It would also have the unusual side effect of giving your cargo many breathtaking views of Sirius as you fly through it, since most of the open space on the ship is taken up by observation lounges.
Of course, if you have no qualms working with Renzu instead of OS&C, you could always go for a Shukensha. They're designed with better armor and armament though at the expense of some cargo capacity. You'll have to contact our friends in Kusari about procuring one of those, however. Orbital doesn't have any liners that new which we are interested in decommissioning.
If you wish to purchase a used liner directly from us, you can speak to an agent on Baden Baden. If you require us to arrange purchase and delivery for you, I'm happy to facilitate that process. Let me know how I can best be of service.

Greetings Captain,
Thank you for your recommendations, as well as your notes on the handling of the Enterprise class ships. I expect that the refit and the armor I plan to have added while the ship is in drydock will cover most of the observation lounges. I will request that the engineers at drydock leave the uppermost observation deck clear however so that my crew and I can still enjoy the views and have ample space for recreational activities during downtime. I had previously heard that the Renzu liners were luxurious, even bordering on extravagant, and rivaled the comforts of Bretonia's Royal Palace liner, however that seems to come with a price premium that I don't think would be offset by the type of service it would be used. I am sure the premium is justified when discussing VIP and wealthy passengers and the comforts of cruises, but there has to be a limit for my crew and me.
I will reach out to the agents on Baden Baden concerning the purchase of a used liner.
