The Admiralty has been briefed by the Ministry of Defense in relation to intelligence pertaining to the Gallic-Kusari War ongoing in Gallia proper. We have been made aware that the cabinet is currently debating the next steps, particularly to initiate the Invasion of Edinburgh, taking advantage of the Enclave focus on seizing power in Gallia, and weakening their prospects of restoring the Kingdom on their terms by damaging their military capacity and power base built up within Edinburgh.
While we await your verdict, which may take precious time, we will begin preparations to initiative this operation on command.
As such, we will make ready the still understrength Somerset fleet for deployment to New London, while the Essex returns to Dublin; freeing up the Ark Royal for the operation to come. We will also move Grimsby forward to begin probing the Edinburgh defenses, and do similar with the MacDuff. It is also my recommendation that operations in Inverness be put on hold indefinitely, so the safety of the listening post in that system is not something the Admiralty can secure.
I must inform the cabinet that the Crayter Republic Admiralty has reached out to us on potential Outcast attacks on their forces within Tau-44, however I have regretfully informed them that Edinburgh takes priority for MacDuff, and that they must seek other assistance in the case of such a situation. I would strongly suggest we offer them safe harbour within our borders should their situation in Tau-44 begin untenable.
Best regards,

Ah, Redmond! The man of action! I'm always pleased to talk with you, as a rest from the daily tedium of ambiguous political oratory. What you say, you will do, and that's why I respect you. I will entrust you with a mandate to resolve the Edinburgh question once and for all, but I must wait for the government to finish voting. The motion will pass, no doubt, but the procedure must be followed lest we fall into anarchy. If the military acted without approval from the civilian government, then that could produce a division of power crisis. Everything is preferred to internal crisis and anarchy, so please be patient. Patience is a virtue, as they say. But you may move your battleships around as you see fit meanwhile - just wait for the government's approval before the general attack. I'll see if we can get Liberty to cover your rear in Tau 31, I believe they would be open to help us out with the Lehigh.
