OVERVIEW

Just in time for Christmas 827A.S., The independant game studio Analog Free has finished work on their first Virtual Reality Experience. Part of their forthcoming "A Piece of History" series, "The Invasion Of Texas" is a full fidelity combat simulation centered around the Liberty-Rheinland war that spanned from 816A.S. to 823A.S. Specifically, this simulation takes place during the last offensive operation the Rheinland Military executed prior to shifting to a defensive posture.

Promotional materials declare that any individual can "Take command of some of the biggest Warships and Support Craft involved in one of the biggest conflicts in Recent History!" Consumers can purchase this newest video game adaptation from any Neural Net connected terminal.

Players will have access to preset /restart commands to participate in the event. Ship Equipment/Loadout points will be provided at each team's respective base, as well as resupply for Missiles, Regens, etc. The Texas VR System will be physically isolated from the rest of the DiscoveryGC Environment, and players will not be able to Jump or Otherwise Access the system outside of the Restart commands listed below.

Rule Changes and General Conditions:

For the duration of the event, The following rule changes are in effect:

• Virtual Reality Texas system will have a 30-minute death counter instead of 1 hour.
  
• Players in the Event System may not transfer cash or move ships in/out of the Virtual Reality System. Ships created for the event are Tracked. You have been Warned.
  
• All other Server Rules are in Effect. You will still need to Role Play before engaging.
  
  
• There will be a 10 million credit bounty placed on ships using the Liberty Navy VR and Rheinland Military VR IDs so that you won't run out of credits and can work towards getting better gear.
  
  
• For the duration of the event, Supernova Antimatter Cannons damage output versus Fighters has been raised from 1.00x to 7.33x, and SNAC damage versus heavier ships has been raised from 7.33x to 10.0x.

This event is the first of many "Historical" conflict events that have occurred over the long periods that DiscoveryGC has been around, to allow newer players to experience some of these grand fights that have occurred over the years. It is the intention of the Event Team (And the GM and Development Teams that support us) to run these types of combat events on a semi-scheduled basis, to include historically significant battles and answer some of the "What-If's" that people have.

We'll be after lots of feedback so that we can improve these events and make them more enjoyable for all. We'd also like to hear what alternative history or past events you guys would like to reply.
