Is this an IMG PVP faction?

While it has pvp elements in it, it is not a "pvp" faction nor entirely "IMG".

Are there any miners or something related to the faction IFF name (Independent MINERS Guild) in this group or just PVP thirsty players?

Borneo MINING Syndicate, so yes, we mine, we trade and we have roots in both Independent Miners Guild and Crayter Republic, which you would see in the lore. This is a group of IMG-CR unificationists, which was also a goal Henderson-era IMG and CR of the time aimed in long term. Due to current relations between IMG and CR however, this faction essentially absorbs more pro-IMG, sympathetic elements of CR into a Tau-centric "IMG cell". If you remember the Aland crisis, there were rogues of CR and not every Crayterian would agree with putting IMG under the bus.

I also wonder why one of the faction's goals is to reduce the influence of Bretonia via espionage?

A) Aland is a thing
B) Neither IMG nor CR is (maybe was in CR's case) known to be sympathetic towards aggressive house expansion and in fact IMG shown that multiple times throughout Discovery history despite portraying themselves as "neutral". Even in this case, Bretonia's (re-)expansion into Tau 31 combined with Aland is not a good combination for this faction.
