The huge difference in other games is, as Lemon pointed out, they do have matchmaking and an active playerbase that exceeds 20 players. Of course it isn't easy to learn a new game, but most of the time you're put up against people of equal or close to equal skill whereas in Discovery, your chances of running into people that have played either 1 or 10 years are almost 100%. Make of that what you will, but I can't imagine that it is fun for someone who has never played Freelancer PvP before to run into someone who can steamroll them with one hand on their balls

i call this ' old game '
Freelancer is an old game, don't expect to find yourself in a 1vs1 against players who have the same level
the exact same thing happens in all the old PvP games

If we want new players staying that is. You don't strike me as someone that cares about that Jeuge
and ?
If beginners leave Disco, it's simply because ' they don't like the server '
And not because "I'm getting killed by older players".

"Getting killed by older players" can be constructed in many forms, not just via ingame PvP....
I appreciate Lemon for holding me in high regard, I play Freelancer for PvP most of the time and like some do, there are times I also ignite except if the other side greets and says "Good fight" "Fun fight" etc, that kept me most of time playing against the odds. @"DariusCiprian" does balances sides in fights and respects sides, like him I try to do the same.
About the discussion, I love this game as much as everyone, but the hard truth is Freelancer is very old, even we did find people for the game, then there would be no slot to play, which collides the idea.

And this is the sad truth, but Freelancer community do have skilled developers.
My hope is that one day, that if someone/people can create new identical and improvised game, I will support in any way I can, like how fans of Chivalry made Mordhau.
to make this happen this Freelancer community must be active, at the moment Discovery is the only and current place for the Freelancer community.
We can do, not hold each others throat and stop Lemonade-shaming people

The game PvP is harder than Disco, much more complex, yet newbies stay because they get their successes along the way of learning.
I find this comparisona bittrue, but only for capital ship gameplay.
Dota 2 requires intense micro management, almost same as Discovery caps, where in a 10 minute fight, all my fingers go hurt( same for Dota 2 )
big side note, Lemon might be planning to coup the devs of Discovery to make it pure RP server, he is da good figure dont cancel him thx.

every coup has cost the server half of its playerbase each time, but hey, go ahead, let someone even more out of touch take over and dev over six players
