considering I played through the Kraken Sabre meta, compared to how the game is now that was absolutely nothing.
also overpowered fighters dont invalidate as much of the game space as overpowered bombers do. because they simply do not have the solo pressure to punch above their weight class.
last I will say because this thread has been accidentally hijacked by me.

Solo krakens did. All you had to do was box, and do insane amounts of DPS. That was why it was so busted. Because of the speed and damage. We don't need to go back to the phantom times of insane damage weapons.
Also, for the record, bombers can be killed if they're alone since they need to get in 500m to fire but in a pack, obviously you're going to have a bad time. EMP Flaks are just essential for countering them.
They didnt do insane amounts of DPS they did about 10-20% more than other fighter guns, which to other fighters is obnoxious but absolutely everything else it was not a lot.
It would take you 10 minutes+ to kill a properly armoured transport with a solo kraken sabre, that was also before turret steer so they aren't going to be doing anything to gunboats and up.
In that time there was the possibility of several things happening, they can kill you, you can call for help and actually have enough time for help to arrive and meaningfully assist, you could run to the nearest base provided it wasn't TOO far away, a random other trader that came out of the lane could provide you bots and bats so that you DO survive. You could actually be saved from that situation.
So like I said they cant really do much, overpowered bombers make a mockery of the entire game design, they invalidate the grind you do in transports and miners for better armour & bigger ships (which is 90% of the reason anyone ever did those activities besides not feeling confident in pvp) by rinsing through you and making you wonder why you bothered.
The incongruity of something so small being so powerful to things 20 to 100 times its size is like why would you bother grinding for those things?
Also im not even sure why you brought up the sabre kraken meta as like i said you would be going back to 85 with the knowledge you have now, Hindsight is extremely powerful. You wouldnt even have to deal with it since everybody already knows about it and krakens would just get nerfed slightly.
the problem you have now is instead of things being brought down to the level they need to be, absolutely everything just gets buffed ad infinitum. so all the guns get 20% buff, so all the fighters need a 20% HP buff to compensate, so gunboats need a buff to their HP and weapons because fighters are too oppressive. Now cruisers are being out performed by gunboats so now they need a buff, now bombers need a major buff because fighters and gunboats are too strong, now transports need...
on and on and on and on and on until you reach where we are today.
Why is it that most British people that stick around for long enough in Discovery come down with terminal cases of rose tinted glasses syndrome? It's honestly kind of heartbreaking and might warrant a charitable trust for the sake of spreading awareness. Like it's either genuinely trying to advocate that Corsairs should have their turn with busted equipment; That the Core is the reason the server is alive at all; Or in this case weaponized nostalgia being misused as rationale for how things should be "systematically" imbalanced.
Either people can't bring themselves to let go of something that was subjectively cool through the eyes of themselves from years prior, or this is genuine mental illness. I'd flip a coin to see which is which, but it's hard to use that for determination when most of the participants pushing those angles have lost their heads.

But then Leeds would still be an actual system and the Bretonians would still be insufferably smug rather than the embittered shadows of their semi-glorious past that they are now.
So, no.

well, London should've been glassed successfully and should have left the house split into many small pieces
that would've actually been cool, instead, disco as always took the most boring straight forward plan and ruined everything, again, as always.
It is always disarmingly sweet how you regret the absence of a successful planetwide genocide and label it as the most boring thing ever.
Only on Disco, ladies and gentlemen.
Though, despite this friendly mockery, I do believe there were many better ways of closing the Gallic war chapter and those better ways would have needed more dramatic resolutions. Leeds felt a little like just a bit of apocalypse and then everything returns to normal.
