A few of the Freeport 12 members have all got Whales ....
If not .... certainly not doing the event ......
Sorry
Zoner ID says no docking of ships bigger than 3600 cargo in the house space. The Ring is in the Rheinland capitol...
So most likely not. Grab a BWT or Serenity for this one. Or if you insist on the Whale (I understand, love that ship too.) just do Freeport 1 -> Livadia
There is a bunch of options to choose from on the way back. See below.

Yeah, that is a bit of a bummer.
Though you can go to Omicron Delta:
- Pilgrims (if your ship can carry passengers) on FP11 and go straight back to FP1. That is pretty nice route.
- If you have a cargo ship, take Iridium to Pennsylvania then something (Neon, Basic Alloys etc.) from there to Omega-3.
- Iridium Ore from Delta POBs to Coronado. And there is coupe options to take from there to Omega-3

You can still work around that rule by getting a freelancer to buy the commodity and give them to you. It's a bit of a hassle, but works.

Not sure if the event is tracked, but it will also not count any score, so keep it in mind.

I have not tested, but I doubt you will get the bonus for zoners/freelancers in this way.
And that is a significant (about 60%) portion of the total possible profit.
well it is part 1, that means that part 2 should be Livadia to Gran Canaria.
i don't know what are the devs plans, but usually ends up to be something that make the last season of game of thrones look like a masterpiece!!!
one thing, for those who make FP1 - Livadia, you can take temporary shelters to Lanzarote, and then go empty to Gran Canaria, and then go to FP1 with deuterium. I don't know what are the bonus, but i think the Ring - FP1 should be higher, because most of the Zoners are going to use ZBTs, and those can't dock on The Ring, so they will do the other 2 routes, and those with smaller ships could have a boost for going to the Ring.
now a few things, like Redeclipse said, and i ad, the Core helped bretonia to invade Gran Canaria, and when Bretonia stole Gran Vista Orbiral, it gave to the Core as a thank you gift, so if there factions that the Zoners of GC would like to see crashing into a star, one on then is the Core.
Don't go by the infocard, because is too outated, and also Pygar and is not for the lack of warning. If before the invasion there were a couple hundred thousands habitants, during the invasion many bretonains camed right, but many Zoners and Corsairs left, and then when Carlisle was open, all bretonians left as well the Coallition that were their friends. Also there is still on a second migration from Gran Canaria ... in other words there should less than 100k habitants there .. for me not even 50k and almost all around Port Canaria, that is snowing there, and that means that most of the planet is already an ice ball.
I have to admit I have also noticed the discrepancy of the infocard and this event. I mean what's the point of rebuilding the docking ring if everyone is just desperately trying to leave the soon-to-be-snowball planet?
This event seems a bit gamey, as if someone is trying to shoehorn the last remnants of the playerbase (which is mainly Zoners, Freelancer traders and Core casuals at this point, with some Hessians and odd Corsairs ) into doing someting meaningful.
