1st Entry:
Information collected from Corinth shows that Azurite gas appears to have some potential use for us. Azurite gas seems to have effects that react with various energy sources, and can be used to create a different type of conductor for power management. What is even more curious is how it appears to react when exposed to various types of Nomad technology. The popular theory is that Nomads may have a broader use of it in their technology. It is very doubtful that the area it was located in is the only source.
The Azurite can be used to manipulate such technologies in ways that are still under investigation, but this leads us to having high hopes to unlocking more secrets about our primary enemy. This is quite the discovery that researchers have been making on Corinth and we have been using a small amount for our testing. The science team onboard Stormhawk insists that with further research, a use of some sort could be found for it in our favour. Using what data we have on Nomad technology both from destroyed vessels and old relic sites, a solution to this problem can be found, hopefully in the near future. For the forseable future, we have been directed that the bulk of the science team must begin looking for similarities in both the area we recovered the gas from and currently known Alien tech.

2nd Entry:
It took about two weeks of constant testing by the team, time that was well spent. Now there are finally viable results present. A large portion of data retrieved from Knossos has proved useful. Invasive scans of the gates at both Minor and Knossos have shed some light on Nomad power generation and transfer. Attempts were made to inspect the Beta Gate but that did not have much success.
The running theory is that some power is transferred using some unknown radiation, similar to radio waves, that can be moved through the physical pieces which are not physically attached to each other. Although it also can be that each section of the gate system uses it's own micro power source to individually strengthen each other to create a singular anomaly to open up a wormhole. The science behind the wormhole itself is perhaps not the primary focus, but rather the sequence of events leading up to that point, in how it modulates and controls the power flow. The belief is that uncovering this will assist in constructing possibly a power transfer system or generation array to synergize our current technology, along with the Nomad Fuelcell currently installed. The hope is that this will in some way give us a chance to enhance one or more of the Stormhawk's subsystems to give it greater advantages in the long-term.
The main reactor would be the preferable candidate to enhance first, but based on the sensitive nature of modifying a high-energy reactor core, the team as a whole is unsure of how to tackle such a task at first. We have alternate suggestions on the table that could prove a easier route. One being the cloaking device. With Nomads using cloaking devices of their own quite frequently, several team members believe that there can be a notable connection there. Another system being explored is the Phoenix sensor array. Although this has undergone increased enhancements over time, it might be possible to increase it's effective range even farther. The last system being explored may have to do with the engine core. A change to the thrust composition using such technology could result in increased flight capabilities.
At the moment, more tests will be underway with the load of Azurite we have on board. It appears to have multiple effects when applied near other active Nomad technology. The team will move to continue on this path for the time being. In addition, more data will be analyzed based on the multi-spectrum scans of the currently known Nomad structures. A return trip to more of them may yield more results.

3rd Entry:
While a operator was conducting tests on a sample of Azurite, they inadvertently overcharged the conduction system being used to test the Azurite against certain conduction rates on our superconductors. What resulted was the Azurite being infused at a much higher rate than we thought possible. By doing this, it should make it easier to modify and manipulate into the Nomad tech we have at our disposal. Also, sub-systems required to have a tightly-controlled high energy flow to them can benefit from this by making use of a more efficient stream of power. The team has been looking into further ways of better controlling how to directly modify it's properties in conjunction with adapting our tech to work with it. Below is a magnified, microscopic view of the Azurite in it's chamber.
The Azurite is seen to be infusing at a very high rate, while at the same time maintaining it's base atomic properties. The extent to which this can be applied to our uses can therefore be enhanced. This will still need further testing to confirm that our power system can properly manage and control the substance so as to not have any major issues.
Engineering Chief Waxford has put forth the suggestion to move away from raw power generation and rather put more effort into secondary system efficiency. One facet of this could be to enhance our Cloaking Drive as it has recently failed in a covert attempt made in Zeta. While moving near another group of Nomad ships passing through, the Cloaking Drive began to encounter problems and issues occurred where the Cloaking field may not be stable for much longer, so the Stormhawk retreated to a safer location before a potential failure would happen. This is not the first time such a problem has happened, and unfortunately there is no way to predict if it will happen again. At least on one occasion it did shutdown prematurely, causing the Stormhawk needing to engage several hostile ships before retreating.
These problems may further reinforce the need to enhance the Cloaking Drive in some way so that these problems do not happen, or happen with far less frequency. With Delta 4 required to do frequent covert operations, this is of extreme importance to the current leadership. Very soon, the main testing crew will begin tests on how they can tie the Cloaking system directly into the Nomad Fuelcell via the use of Azurite.

4th Entry:
Quite a lot of progress is being made in response to the intensive scans of the Nomad structures we have had time to evaluate. What is surprising is that some of them appear to use conduits not unlike our own, though likely capable of moving a far greater amount of power than we expected.
Evaluating first the Gate at Beta was decided as a feasible starting point, it being fully or at the very least almost fully intact according by our estimates. Although the sensors of the Stormhawk are not able to fully penetrate it, based on logical design coupled with it's spacial rotation, it is very likely they use a even power distribution, likely a system contained within that provides power equally across the system, similar to ours yet without needing any sort of hydraulic activation system for the magnetic acceleration units. More than this is pure speculation and therefore we are decided to move to other locations to cross check what we can.
Significant progress was made on our inspections of the Knossos gate. This along with a deeper scan of the derelict gate in Minor, shows more easily readable evidence of Nomad Power management. At Knossos, examining the area specifically around the central ring has shown more clearly on the physical construction of their interior power systems.
Everything cross referenced so far has revealed that the use of a specific alloy present within the gates is used to maximize their power-flow and management. Since the expeditions at Knossos, Stormhawk and her crew have salvaged small bits of what appears to be the same alloy from the dead Alien structure present in the atmosphere. If enough of such alloy can be procured, it could be possible to fabricate a similar conduit system for the Stormhawk. As thus, creating a more efficient means of moving power is a prime goal of Delta 4 on this project. The initial construction will be given the go-ahead shortly, once more traces can be captured.

5th Entry:
The Stormhawk recently returned from a recon mission into a Nomad-controlled system called Omicron Psi. Time spent there was mainly to scavenge anything viable from destroyed Nomad ships, but also to have a closer look at fully intact ones. They spent a large amount of time under cloak, getting within close range of several unsuspecting ships and making what scans were possible. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the Cloaking Field, detailed scans are difficult due to the heightened EM radiation present during that time. Regardless, the scans did show a number of similarities to other forms of their technology. It is rare that such detailed scans can be made, so the Cloaking Drive's effectiveness was key here.
During the the time under cloak, it did happen to be disrupted by a unknown energy field that was emitted from a larger Nomad ship which caused the Stormhawk to immediately be detected. This caused the Stormhawk to make a hasty retreat out of the system to prevent taking heavy damage or worse. This compounds the greater need to enhance the Cloaking Drive using the new data we recently uncovered.
Further research progressed lately in Azurite also. We discovered new ways of modifying the movement of the gas in direct relation to the Nomad Fuelcell. By using a set of tubes that pipe the gas into the exterior chamber, the Azurite can somehow adapt itself to a modulating power-flow. By creating a set of somewhat “Secondary conduits” using this method, it might be possible to greatly increase the efficiency of the Nomad Fuelcell. The results of this can have huge implications for the near future. This process of melding Nomad technology directly with our own using the Azurite is exactly what Delta 4 has been looking for.

6th Entry:
Based on recent developments, we now have a clearer understanding of the use of Azurite gas and a more effective way of deploying it.
With the new adaptions of Azurite being experimented with the Nomad Fuelcell, it should give more insight on progressing to the next step. Several days ago the team started working on a Azurite “fuel cell” of sorts to help contain a larger amount of the the Azurite and modify to a tighter degree how it is imposed upon the system.
The Azurite fuel cell will use a two-way input/output system that will give better flow-control of it's deployment. Having more close management on this has proved to be beneficial as flooding the system with a overflow of Azurite although can increase the power, seems to be harder on our conduit system. The newer secondary conduit system does need more active maintenance than usual and due to this, it must be more carefully monitored. The gas does seem to maintain it's primary abilities with ease regardless of the length of time it has been in storage. This is a good thing, meaning that constant “refills” of the gas may not be needed, at least not for a long time. Even though this is the case, more Azurite gas will likely be needed to be put under further trials. A visit back to that Azurite site in Minor may be warranted in the near future.
Numerous calculations have been processed by our computers to project to what extent it can be both controlled and the maximum throughput possible. Additional time may be needed to finalize the inner workings of the control system that has been recently implemented. The team at Corinth have forwarded some of their own results that pertain to this, so after some time is spent analyzing them, we intend to conduct stress tests of our own so no potential incidents occur.

7th Entry:
Based on our models that we have created, final stress tests of our Azurite system began this week. Data corroborated between our science personnel confirms that the power-flow can be correctly controlled, but is vulnerable to potential overcharging and may overwork the system, causing possible issues. Based on this information, the next step will be building auxiliary energy capacitors to supplement the system on-board the Stormhawk. If excess power goes beyond reasonable limits, fail-safes will be automatically enacted to draw additional power into the capacitor array. This is a fairly straight-forward process and should not take long to complete.
Once these systems are fully operational, a final test will be undertaken by the engineering team. If all goes well, we should then be clear to move to the final phase of our plan. The command staff of Delta 4 is going over how the Azurite control system will be used in the long term, and what equipment will be the first to receive improvements. Most likely it seems either the Cloaking Drive or main sensor grid are the candidates.
We have come a long way in these past months, all this work and perseverance is finally starting to pay off, and the hope is to use what we have unlocked to further propel Delta 4 to their goal of ridding Sirius of the Alien Threat once and for all.

8th Entry:
A working prototype Azurite Fuel cell was finally completed not long ago. Stress tests were successfully completed and no further issues were encountered. The idea with this is to have a way to better regulate the volume and flow current of both the Azurite in the conduit systems leading to the Nomad Fuelcell and dictating the exact power flow needed into the system. By installing several sets of modified Superconductors into the Azurite fuel cell, energy can be pushed through at more controlled rates. This process was difficult to develop as we still need more data on how much power the Azurite can actually process and handle. Despite this, the team is likely not far from fully realizing the potential of such hybrid technology so only further hard work can produce results. Also, the capacitor array that was installed is functioning within rated limits, and should allow higher energy usage of the new power system.
A second opinion and more eyes on our system will likely be very helpful as recommended by the engineering team. Options will be explored on who to contact to further our goals.
Both JJ and Kaplain have confirmed that the Cloaking Drive onboard the Stormhawk will be the candidate to receive the first improvements. It has become clear more recently that the requirement of covert activity is one of the main aspects of Delta 4, as options of diplomacy are limited. With recent issues of the Cloak failing and becoming susceptible to potential disruptions, resolving this problem has become a critical objective.
Now that there is a working prototype Azurite system onboard the Stormhawk, combined in part with the Nomad Fuelcell, initial designs and methods will begin on how to tie it all together with the Cloaking Drive. Since the Cloaking Drive is vulnerable to heavy power fluctuations, along with a fairly limited runtime, we will work diligently to enhance it through the tools at our disposal. We have already begun simulations on how to adapt our current power array into it, and barring any major issues, we should be able to put these into practice very soon.
Considering that reasonable progress can be made, further exploration into other avenues of enhancing the Stormhawk's systems will be looked into at a later time. R&D data collected in just this project alone will advance our understanding of Nomad technologies and other Hybrid technology that can be put to use in our favour.
