As per the arrangement we came to in Baffin, you will find what data I was able to recover from a recent event in Tau-Thirty Seven, a Nomad arrived near the Freeport and engaged the MNS-Crimson.Dawn, an Outcast capital that was in the vicinity, the Crimson Dawn chose to retreat while the Nomad appeared to be confused as to why I was engaged with the mutants.

I would also include the communications logs, however, it would appear that whatever way the aliens communicate renders any attempts to record their speech worthless. I do realise this is probably dull and not what you were hoping for, but I was unable to pull any extra scan data regarding the creature due to its sudden appearance. If you need anything else let me know, if not payment can be wired to E.Taylor.

While this information is indeed "dull", this at least proves the sincerity of your commitment to our arrangement. While the nomad's behavior is an oddity, it's not the kind of thing I'm looking for at this moment. Nebel.
I'm not sure what you might have heard recently regarding events in the Taus, but there is a situation brewing in Orkney, and it's not pleasant.

To start with, there is a new passageway between Orkney and Tau-115, or if you want to use the Gallic name, Roussillon. This passageway seems to have become a new hotspot for the aliens, having had two separate appearances from the aliens already and from what I've seen, it looks like this isn't going to be a problem that will go away anytime soon.

The first Nomad encounter took place in the passageway itself, and while its behaviour was similar enough to that the one in Baffin expressed, at least the behaviour it expressed towards me. However, unlike the one from Baffin, this one was far larger in size. Having learned from the encounter in Tau-37, I kept a manual log of the conversation this time, a transcript of which you will find below.

The second encounter took place in Orkney itself, right by the GMS operated Vierzon Mining Facility. This time it was two Nomads, the first of which was the same size as the one from the first encounter in the passageway system, and the second, a smaller one, that was about the same size as a Gallic Obstinate or a Bretonian Fortitude class. These two were didn't weren't communicative at all and seemed to be simply observing for a time until they eventually opened fire and I was forced to withdraw.

The third encounter is a much longer story, this one begins in Orkney, with a squadron of Order fighters who were present around the jump hole to the new "Tau", there was also a pilot from the Technocracy of Auxo present, or to borrow a name I heard used by the Order, Auxesia. After a few heated words and their little interrogation, they turned their focus to trying to figure out whether or not it was safe to take the jump hole, and it was at this time I saw the opportunity to tag along if I guided them to the jump hole to Tau 115 was in exchange for payment.

This worked out a little bit too well, as I was able to observe them as they carried out their own examination of the system afterwards and all seemed to be going relatively fine up until some sort of cloud, as it were that spooked them. And no, this isn't referring to the Nebula in the system, this cloud, to put it bluntly, well it was capable of moving by itself, they themselves seemed to be familiar with and were expecting trouble upon sight of it. They weren't waiting long when trouble reared its head in the shape of the two of the large Nomad forms and we were forced to withdraw from the system back to Orkney, where we were ambushed by yet again more Nomad forms, this time tiny ones, that seemed to be utilizing some type of missile, and another bigger form, that was smaller than any of the forms witnessed in Baffin, Orkney or the passageway as of this time, yet bigger than the subject from Tau-37.

The smaller forms were fast and agile, which made them difficult targets, however, the larger form that accompanied them was much slower and was easily taken down due to its delayed arrival, having taken the opportunity we were provided with, we scrambled to Tau-23, to avoid dragging the Nomads to any of the more heavily populated systems in the area, upon arrival in Tau-23 the Order forces proceeded to split up, I stuck with one of the pilots until we reached the Tau-29 jump hole, where he insisted on parting ways, stating he had somewhere else to be. At this stage, I had run out of excuses to stick around and as such, I took my cue to leave and as such, I'm unaware of what happened to the Order pilots next. The visual images of all these incidents and the black-box logs from the time I spent with the Order squadron will all be attached below.

Should you wish to examine this system for yourself, you will find the jump hole to the system in sector Brave-One in Orkney, or should you wish to take the Tau-115 route, sector Charlie-Two of that system, however, should you take that route, I'd recommend taking extreme caution, as that system has a heavy Maquis presence, and they tend to be one of the more unpredictable elements of the region.

Also, I normally don't concern myself with such details, but what is your interest in the Order? I can understand the concern for the Nomads, but not the Order, they don't seem to be that much of a threat to the region, granted, I'll admit I haven't exactly heard all the stories you'd get outside the Taus. So, some clarification would be appreciated.

I do believe you have provided far beyond what I had anticipated. Not that I doubted you, this line of work is simply filled with disappointment. You asked me what I was doing in Baffin, so far into the Tau sector when last we spoke in person. This is why. Nomad activity in the Tau sector had skyrocketed in the last few months, we had little explanation as to why. Your discovery of this system could perhaps be the keystone, or in and of itself, the answer to that question. I do hope you will find the payment for your services satisfactory.

These nomad encounters you have described are not atypical, however with these nomads being so far from the Omicron sector, one can only make the obvious deduction. The transcript you provided confirms that deduction, they are the Vagrant hive. A secondary cluster to the nomad menace, the primary, being the far more violent of the two. It is extremely unlikely you could have conversed with a primary. However, the fact such conversations are possible at all tells us that what we deem impossible, may not be so. The second encounter is nothing of particular note.

The third encounter is the one that brings the most intrigue, It is no surprise the Order are drawn to the nomads, like moth, to flame. Geist, to Nebel. The subject of intrigue are two subjects you have brought to my attention. The "Technocracy of Auxo" pilot "Revenant", and this fog-like Entity you have discovered. The former, has previously been shown to attract those same moths, to her own flame. That flame of which is unidentifiable as of yet, however their fascination with her remains. Should you be able to find more relevant data on the subject in question, you know our deal well enough. The latter, previously unknown even to me.

This, being merely a lead on the subject we will refer to as "Anomaly" I would suggest avoiding this creature in the future if nomad forms spontaneously come to, or are drawn to its presence, unfortunately there is no information I can provide you as the nomad forms you mentioned coming to and or being drawn to "Anomaly" don't fit any known archetype. Naturally, should you choose to go after it at your own peril, you will be compensated regardless.

You wish to understand why the interest in the Order. We already touched on that topic briefly at the beginning of our deal. I would be lying to you if I said it wasn't somewhat of a personal matter, however, fortunately for me. They are branded as terrorists by Rheinland, for a reason. In an official capacity, the Order has served to undermine the efforts of the MND and Military in the past, and have orchestrated numerous terrorist attacks within our sovereign territories. However that is not their true danger.

Believe in the Order's "good will" or not, Miss Taylor. Those who promise salvation often become disillusioned as the sole bringer of their idealistic world. Anyone who threatens their capacity as the sole gatekeeper, is an enemy to their promised salvation. Thus, an enemy of mankind. It is akin to a cult mentality, the agents cannot be reasoned with, and rarely if it all divulge information with those they claim to "protect". As you have no doubt noticed, I share information with you when it becomes relevant, so we are both on the same page. The problem with the Order becomes even worse when you stop to consider that self proclaimed protectors of mankind have little, if any, consistency. Lacking so much in fact one could compare them to the simplistic feudal life styles of common raiders such as the Liberty Rogues, or Gallic Brigands, without the flare. An unpredictable and secretive organization that offers promises without assurance, and controls all sources of information on the topic they believe they alone can save us all from. One may also note that the Order has made numerous attempts to undermine the efforts of many, and fights wars with factions of humanity itself who do not align with its own interests.

With that in mind, Miss Taylor. Do you still question why I require information on their operations?

It has been quite some time since we have spoken to one another. It is my intent to solidify the words I spoke to you when last we met, the situation in the Taus is far beyond the initial lens you provided into the situation. With information on "Anomaly" lacking to such a large degree it is in my professional opinion far too dangerous to continue operations while it is present within the region. For both of us.

However as I have said before, if you are to continue such risky adventures in the Taus to collect more data on the Vagrant presence, I will continue to provide monetary compensation for the associated risks to your life, however, please understand that I am not urging you to do so, it is beyond reckless at this point. Our agreements still stand, for both Vagrant activity, and that of the Order. However my involvement in the former matter will be scarce.

Nebel, I'm not sure if you have been to Orkney recently, but the situation there is beyond dangerous, the aliens managed to knock out about half of the system's infrastructure and they managed to destroy the shipyard the Gallic Navy had in the system.

This coupled with Gallia's decision to no longer take on independent contractors has lead to me looking beyond the Taus and into the Independent Worlds. However, I still do have something for you at least one last time. I found myself in Inverness, staying at the local Freeport to try and look into the prospects of work in the area. Turns out the Technocracy that this "Revenant" that had caught your attention last time we spoke considers this system home.

I even ran into "Revenant" herself, but not much of interest was said aside from one part about the Technocracy thinking they are qualified to handle alien materials and the fact that she recognized me as the "Gallic Freelancer". Now, what you may find interesting, is that there was also an Order agent present in the system, which spent some time near the Freeport that I and a few other local mercenaries and non-combatants where at the time before heading off and eventually finding "Revenant" and the fighter wing accompanying her.

What happened next, well, it's the sort of thing I'd might have expected to see one of the maskers pull off, they jumped right at the entire wing single handed, and actually put up quite the fight before going down. Of course, the Technocrats didn't like just how close I'd gotten to their base in the area during the fight, so I wasn't able to stick around and find out what happened in the aftermath.

Regarding our deal, I'm not quite sure if I'll able to be much help anymore, but if by sheer luck I happen to be around when either the aliens or the Order show, I'll keep this channel open and transmit what I can for you. Speaking of which, I'll transmit what little I have, but I'm afraid to say that I think the Technocrat angle is a dead end. Oh and, sorry in advance about that arguement between the locals, since it was overlapping some of the things said by "Revenant" I wasn't able to remove the from the recording cleanly, so I had to leave it in.

Regardless of how things play out in the future regarding the aliens in Orkney or the Order, it has been a pleasure to work with you, Nebel, good luck with whatever takes up your focus next.
