Esteemed pilots, captains and freelancers,

Following disagreements of Her Majesty's Government on New London with the respected Republic of Liberty, and, following an approval by the Congress of Liberty of a bill that aims to lower taxation on raw materials, whist providing an increase in taxation for other goods exported by the United Kingdom of Bretonia, it is our duty to release the below statements.

In light of the bill passed by the Congress of Liberty, additional border checkpoints will be put in place at the border with the Royal Protectorates of Cortez and Magellan, in addition to an updated tax for entry within the Realm, aimed at normalizing the tax revenue earned from the protection of the trade lane infrastructure, safekeeping the trade lanes, as well as a measure taken to curb any potential over-exploitation by foreign corporations of resource (asteroid, or ice, or gas clouds) fields.

Whilst the Kingdom of Bretonia remains open to further negotiation, in order to offset the increase in taxes, all corporate vessels bearing Liberty insignia or identification or transponders will be subject to higher taxation and will only be allowed to enter the resource-rich fields of Dublin under escort by Her Majesty's Royal Navy, Police Authority or Bretonia Mining & Manufacturing.

The United Kingdom of Bretonia wishes to maintain cordial relations with all stellar neighbors, and we will work towards solutionizing the newly-risen issues within the Independent Worlds and seek a normalization of relations with the Republic of Liberty within the coming months.
