The Technocracy's not an organization we'd like to see inhabit the sector. To that end, we made a declaration of intent. We're remarkably efficient as a people when it comes to the science of applied ordnance, but the problem is that they're being smart and have holed themselves up in their little backwater - Inverness.
This means that our raiders who are usually poised to rip into all kinds of lumbering hulks are just.. idle. Relegated to the occasional interdiction of logistics vessels which are known, or even assumed to be supplying them. And as content as I am with "economic warfare", our logistics chain doesn't stretch far enough for us to really lay on the pain.
That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a third party, such as yourself, take advantage of the fact that we are depriving them of the resources and resolve needed to fight people with real tonnage to spare.
Truth be told, it does irk me seeing our ships sitting around. The Military tends to keep away from Inverness with the real firepower; Something about flurries of telephone poles. Not an unfounded deviancy, really, but certainly not something the technofetishists can keep up if they're being railed in the supply department.
I'll pass on a little whisper to the badges; I'm sure they'll be thrilled to hear that the toasters have been mucking it up across the spectrum. Might even effect their orders in the field whenever your boys show up. Conflict makes for weird friends, yeah?

I can't promise that our people will view your military any differently, and that has to do with the perception of your Republic as being subservient to the interests of the Houses. Something we have a strong amount of distaste for. The best I can do is conveniently orchestrate raiding to occur when your ships aren't around.
It's just a shame, I'm sure our Republics could have been friends otherwise.
I was more talking about convenient ignorance in the field, something the Military is already quite versed in. I doubt it will change what the suits do, but they're suits. They have their own agendas.
Maybe in time that will change. Regardless, this has been a breath of fresh air.
I am putting my hand out in the interests of something I should hope we both want.
The continued survival of our Republics, despite the best efforts of the Houses who appear to be more than happy to meddle and mangle wherever possible. I am offering you what is enclosed as a token of gratitude for how forthcoming one of your military officers happened to be, I recall their codename being Spark.

To whom this may concern,
The Admiralty Board of the Bretonian Armed Forces wants to submit a formal request to the public representative(s) of the Xeno movement for a temporary agreement within the Independent Worlds due to recent moves by the Republic of Liberty.
We propose an exchange consisting of modern weaponry, materials and ship parts in return for information regarding the Liberty Navy's movements within the Kansas system and for a guarantee that the supplied systems and materials will be utilized directly against the efforts of the Liberty Navy.
We await your reply.

While I have no fondness for the current mandates and policies of your Government, I do have a fondness for what you're trying to do. And I'd like to see your nation standing on its own feet years from now. I'm not a House politician, I will freely admit my self interest - your independence ensures mine, and mine yours. Neither of us are endowed with the endless lines of meat and metal to throw at a problem, that advantage is reserved for the Great Houses.
But we could do things the Houses could never dream of achieving together, why? Because the Houses can never bring themselves to agree on principal, too broken and decadent to respect what belongs to someone else. Too caught up in what they want and what they lack to understand how little there is to go around. Their wars will never end, and if they could have it their way, it would be our people they send to die fighting them.
I imagine that's why Bretonia intended for you to serve as the bulwark into Inverness, and why Liberty is presenting you with all those Trojan horses - no doubt hoping you won't see all the rot behind those pearly white smiles of theirs.
So I'm left only with one question. Can we agree on principal? Because I personally refuse to be manipulated by their offerings of short term benefit, all they're ever going to do is play us against each other because they're afraid of what we'd do if all of us went after them instead.
We weren't spared Bretonia's lack of subtlety either, interestingly enough. Seems they sent that brand of political suicide across the whole spectrum.
Their political gimmicks have never been much of an issue until now. The suits have already told Bretonia to mind their own business before, and now's only different in that it actually involves Liberty directly. Frankly, I think Bretonia's moves are starting to wake up the ministers, which may spell opportunity if those two heavyweights come to blows.
Safe to say, I think principle may be what keeps the Independent Worlds free once they turn on each other. I haven't heard any whisper of the current leadership picking any side, though the election may stir that up. Still, even if the new boss starts mixing things up, I doubt people here will abandon our founding morals. Plus, that's pretty much the other half of my job cut out for me if they do.
Feel free to call if you need something. I'll try and coordinate efforts from my end of the table, assuming you don't turn around and represent yourself as having poor manners.
