Good day Dr. Richard Batsbak of Deep Space Research and the station staff of Arnsberg Research Institute,

This is Jeremy Birch from All Worlds Enterprises & Securities in the Scientific Programs section, based out of our HQ at Salt Lake Station in New York.

We apologize for the delay between our first mention of Sirius-wide scientific operations public announcements and the kick-off of our Scientific Programs - but better late than never, as with all good things.

I would advise taking some time to review the program objectives, in case you haven't had a chance to review them due to research obligations.

The main points of the program is we'd like to help support science as much as possible without getting in the way of the science itself, thus the focus on independent research and development that we simply 'help'. There are objectives we hope make progress, even in incremental amounts, but we are hoping these actually get achieved as a bonus to historic scientific accomplishments, rather than deadline laden goals.

So my job of coordinator of the program is actually quite simple:

• Meet with independent scientific community leaders of labs and mobile research ships throughout the sector
  
• Ask them 'what do you need to meet your objectives?'
  
• Work with my team to provide resources to aid that need
  
• Hopefully positively assist with making breakthroughs

Usually at this point, I get asked: Why? Why would your corporation choose to fund and supply resources for such scientific causes?
And the answer is simple: You do these things better everyday with a passion we in corporate labs could not hope to match on our best days.

That reason and we are hoping for our own measurable breakthroughs on the various items listed in the Scientific Program guidelines. If any research being done can somehow support advancements related to measurable increases in performance in business industries with which we are invested, that is absolutely how we make our return here. We would want those achievements made available for our use. It need not be your entire program but offshoots of efficiencies we can market while leaving your research independent.

I'll leave the information at that for now - so your team and discuss as well as generate questions as required to clarify any points mentioned.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, as my research has kept me busy these past few days.

As a scientist, it is refreshing to see a company that values the work we do and recognizes the importance of investing in R&D.

At our institute, we have a diverse team of researchers covering various fields, including theoretical physics, neurology, and many more. Our work is focused on advancing science and technology, improving our understanding of the universe and the world around us, and discovering new innovations that can benefit society.

To answer your question about how you can help us achieve our goals, I would like to highlight some of the challenges we face.

The most significant issue we encounter is funding. As you can imagine, maintaining a research station and its employees is expensive, and we often rely on donations and government grants to keep the lights on. While we occasionally generate income from scientific breakthroughs, these are few and far between. Therefore, financing is critical to our continued success.

In addition, logistical tasks also pose a challenge. Transporting new equipment, delivering everyday items and so on are just a few examples of the logistical tasks that need to be addressed.

In addition to the challenges I mentioned earlier, such as financing and logistical tasks, obtaining permission from individual houses for research in certain areas is also a major hurdle. This is especially true for our xenobiologists and xenoarchaeologists, who require access to ancient artifacts and specimens in order to conduct their research effectively.
One particular area of interest for our team is nomadic material, which is believed to contain unique properties that could revolutionize many fields, from materials science to energy production.
Without the necessary permissions and access to these regions, our research into nomadic material is severely limited.

Finally, safety is a significant concern during expeditions. I find myself increasingly in Omicrons or other remote systems that are far from the patrols of security forces. The crew and I are always exposed to the danger of pirates, which could cause significant samage to the crew and equipment.

Of course, other scientists or organizations may face other problems. In any case, these are the biggest problems that I can also report from personal experience.

In light of these challenges, I am grateful for your interest in supporting our work. Your company's assistance could go a long way in enabling us to overcome these hurdles and make significant strides in our research.

Thank you for your reply. We completely understand any delay based on research priorities - we expect as much during the course of our communications with groups that tend to frequent the outer edges of the sector in search of discovery.

In terms of your challenges with relation to your research work, I'm seeing the following in short form:

• Funding
  
• Logistics
  
• Site access / authorizations
  
• Security

Funding is probably the easiest of the list for us to provide - if you have a need in the future, such as equipment or ships to obtain, or even just specialized supplies, that requires large payments, let us know. We can arrange some sort of payment with third parties completely within the scope of this program.

Logistics just happens to be a specialized skill that All Worlds Enterprises & Securities has honed over much time performing its own base supplies as well as contracts with various factions throughout the sector. We'd be happy to help out in any way we can in this regard.

Site access is a trickier ask. House governments especially keep their cards close to their chests and their found discoveries locked away tightly. Now we have influence in many different areas, and that's not to say with negotiations on your behalf that excursions with local house oversight couldn't be arranged, but I can make no promises here, only efforts. If you'd like us to make attempts on this front, please let us know the exact locations you are looking to explore, any prior communication attempts at access, and the minimum you are looking to accomplish if some sort of access was granted (scans, samples, observations etc). All this information will help our team contact and hopefully work something out that may benefit all parties while overriding travel restrictions in the name of science.

Security in the Edge and Nomad areas is understandably a great concern. All Worlds Enterprises & Securities has recently obtained a base from the Zoners in Omicron Delta that we intend to use for scientific research as well, leading to our own investigation on how best to answer the security situation while getting tasks done. I can tell you this - thus far, we are looking at having several security assets in place to assist our own expeditions, potentially involving Zoner cooperation. I'm sure for the benefit of both our endeavors such security could be made available when needed in the area for your protection under the program.

In your funding assessment, you mention 'breakthroughs being few and far between', which is fair, in any scientific field, one can't be expected to bring home a game changer on each field trip. However, as part of the program, and with the data you are free to distribute, we'd ask for some scientific data which can be uploaded to either our station in Omicron Delta, our HQ in New York, or directly via communications with our vessels in the field.

We feel that often breakthroughs occur when the same data is reviewed with different sets of eyes, perhaps focused on different results.

A scan of an anomaly, for instance, might seem routine in terms of field variations and energy output, but for one looking at how often the scanner was interrupted by specific wild frequencies generated by the same instability, all of a sudden it could be the grounds for breakthroughs in dampening technologies or shielding!

I'm sure you've seen this from time to time, especially with any peer reviews of work or re-analysis of data gathered long ago under light of investigation of new hypothesis.

As you can see, the program offers much in the way of cooperative benefits, with a long term commitment on our part in all aspects detailed above. We don't plan on holding all interested parties to the same standard, for the sake of encouraging participation, even if for a short timeframe. Involvement can be ongoing or transactional, as groups see fit.

We'd love to have you onboard and see to these needs listed.

Your offer to provide funding and logistical support is much appreciated. Securing additional funding would alleviate a great deal of pressure and enable us to acquire any necessary equipment, ships, or specialized supplies. While we currently have a well-positioned fleet, there may be a need for one or two additional ships to fill gaps in our lineup.

Regarding logistics, we have already completed construction of our station, but there are plans for expansion in the near future where we could benefit from your assistance. I look forward to collaborating with you in this regard.

We understand that gaining access to sites can be challenging, particularly as an outsider. Political issues can also arise, especially if a house requires all results and any new technologies resulting from observations and research. We appreciate your willingness to make efforts in negotiating access, and Ì will provide the exact locations I intend to explore, along with any prior communication attempts at access and the minimum requirements I aim to accomplish if granted access. This information will aid in contacting and negotiating with local house oversight to benefit all parties involved, while also prioritizing scientific progress.

With regards to security, I understand that it is of utmost importance in the Edge and Nomad areas. It is encouraging to learn that your organization has recently obtained a base from the Zoners in Omicron Delta for scientific research and that several security assets are being put in place to assist with expeditions. I would be happy to utilize any available security resources in the area for our protection under the program. Having an additional outpost in Omicron Delta that can function as a forward operating base would prove useful for resupply purposes and eliminate the need for constant back-and-forth travel.

I'm a strong proponent of collaboration between scientists of different fields, as one person's insignificant information may hold great potential for another.

Regarding your last question, the most beneficial course of action for me at this time would be to gain access to your Omicron Delta station to continue my ongoing research.

We would encourage use of our Delta Research Station in Omicron Delta now that we've had a chance to setup a few important items on it.

The plan is to being working with local Zoner factions for supply of important needs, such as Anomaly Scanner batteries, so the base can begin helping out with research ship supply as well as analysis of all Scientific Data it receives from participating research ships.

One thing of note is the base cost of these batteries will be higher, to promote participation in supplying them from nearby Corinth Research Annex in Omicron Kappa. The idea is trying to save our researchers time in supply runs so they can spend more time doing what they came to the area to do - scientific discovery!

Our analysts onboard can pay your operating costs for any recovered data at a base rate, but always know this channel is open should costs for the data exceed what that base station rate offers.

Beyond this information, we should try to get in touch for those group efforts - a trial with escorts on your missions, some logistic runs for your station - let us know and we'll make an effort to meet up with you for some shared research support activity.

at present, I've been making regular trips to Heisenberg Station in Cologne or arranging for battery deliveries to Arnsberg whenever I need them for my expeditions.
I completely understand that it's essential for you to generate profits as well, especially since you're incurring all the costs associated with supplying the batteries.

I would like to offer you some help with supply, but as I mentioned earlier, logistics is one of my big problems at the moment. I tried to hire some people myself, but it seems that people aren't too eager to work for a scientific organization and are more likely to work for an organization that generates a steady income.

My current project involves running a test, which means I have some free time to join an expedition with your security team. It would be helpful if all the ships can carry batteries so that we can maximize our supply during the expedition. Additionally, we can divide the data at the end of the mission to ensure that everyone involved benefits from the expedition.

I hope you're doing well. We haven't talked in a while, and that's because I've been locked away in my lab working on a project. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride with lots of failures, but today, I've got some exciting news to share.

I've successfully created an artificial jump hole that connects Puerto Rico to Omicron Kappa. The technical details are pretty complex, so I won't get into that here.

However, there are still some unanswered questions and challenges to tackle. I'd like to invite you to come see this breakthrough in person. We could meet up in the Puerto Rico system whenever it suits you. I believe you'd find it quite fascinating.
