I don't feel it is reasonable for a single task force to contain enough marines to be an effective occupation force to quell an entire planet. I think there should be a companion trade event to bring Marines in to bolster in forces. This would allow other unlawful units an opportunity to join the event. I think it is rather ambitious to think the zoners are going to turn out in sufficient numbers to make this event worthwhile without drawing in additional elements
This isn't a one-off type beat, and jumping to the conclusion that this will be a final conclusion to an event that prior to its cancelation roughly a year ago with Skorak's rage quit had been building up over the span of two years.
There will be more for us to chew on, relax.
Besides, even if the Rogues realistically saw the task force moving into the system via New York, as they reasonably would, the infrastructure in existence would give the task force advantage, and Philadelphia is just a lane down from Erie.
I know it's a game and people tend to lose sight of this, but a lot can happen in the span of a couple hours, and organizing a proper defense takes time, while everyone expects Liberty to make a move on Erie, and has been planning for it, Erie, and those groups avoided pre-emptively setting up a defense, since that would not only give Liberty an easy excuse, but keeping a standing force ready and properly supplied for long periods of time just /waiting/ for action isn't cost efficient, or even feasible for smaller groups, nevermind house spanning underworlders.
That leaves Erie a leg-down, but it was already a leg-down to begin with since Liberty owns the system to a good degree. So while there's going to be resistance, in a situation like this there's only so much it could do.
Is it possible to delay this a week with the US holiday weekend of Memorial Day? Many US players (such as myself) may not be available during this due to the holiday.
Why are you reading this? Don't you have something else you'd rather be doing? Why are you still reading this? Go out and explore, trade, fight, pirate, or even die thanks to SLRC autopilot. You're still here? What do you want, a poem? Fine. Roses are red, violets are blue, I lose the game, and so did you.
For those interested in Epic And Good PvP as a Zoner during this event, the BAF's server will have a special channel dedicated towards it. (I'll set it up in several hours or so)
We'll coordinate there and try to set up some sort of a resistance to the expected LN/LSF log. Also a needed requirement for the people that'll participate is to have LN ships as well so one may swap easily to have at least some sort of balance for the event as nobody likes steamrolls. Hopefully that won't be too needed, but we'll see how things turn out.
Don't understand. Erie is a Linerty planet with a liberty governor so ... why would be angry with liberty forces and the navy plans to invade a planet that is alreay controlled by liberty forces?!!! Czechmate is right, this write up is really bad. anyway ... if there are insurgents on erie and the navy wants to take then out, why they can't fight?! why should only zoners that live in separated cities should fight? there is still insurgency in the game and it is what the navy wants to take down, so why their id is not there? if the plan is to take all planet, some marines on some transports will not enought, you guys have to invent the hundreds of transports like when bretonia invaded gran canaria, and erie is even worse because the natural problems that those marines are going to find, in other words ... do you guys even read the infocard of the planet? and agree that xenos and rogues should also take some shots, because ... why not take a chance to defeat the navy? and there is another stuff that nobody talks, what are the consequences of the result? what if the navy loses, what will happen?! or maybe there is all settle and for that you guys are only puting zoners as the opponent ... right!!!!
anyway .. i will not be around on that day so have fun pew pew on a already one side and result fixed event
note: the event page was changed when i wrote this but almost all i said is still valid.
You've been around long enough to have learned english by this point in time.
This is a matter of Zoner sovereignty, and the planet of Erie is not a Liberty planet at this point in time, it's governed and owned by Zoners, just like it's been forever.
The only reason it's listed as LPI is because they maintain authority from system to atmosphere and nothing more. Zoners handle things on the planet itself.
note: the page wasn't changed since being posted, you just didn't read.
Planet Erie Infocard Wrote:[...]While the system is supervised by Liberty governor, the Zoner cities on Erie are self-governed and enjoy complete autonomy[...]
damn Hemlocke, looks like you are having a bad day. take a deep breath and relax ... come on .. breath in ... breath out.
about my english i really don't care, is not my mother language and it is enough for this. "wned by Zoners, just like it's been forever." right so infocard lies ... right!! the npcs are all zoners ... right!!! ok!!!
