I was able to work out a truce with Caliban, he agreed to leave your people alone because his primary concern is Revenant and her gang of.. whatever they are at this point. But I owe him something, namely answers.
Do you have a problem with me forwarding him the evidence Hawkins relied on to order his termination?
So it's confirmed then? Caliban is Abrams? That's the sort of information you should lead with, considering what we asked of you. Glad to hear about the "truce," though. Of course, now that we know who he is, it being honored is another matter.
Whether you may forward the files provided to you by Hawkins is a matter for my superiors to decide. But, being the helpful gal that I am, I went ahead and asked them for you.
The copy you have access to has been cleared for a singular transfer. Any further transfers or other tampering will result in it being wiped. Make sure Caliban understands that when you forward the data to him.
looks like we're still going to get some use out of these files.
One of our operatives made contact with your former man, Ridgenose, out in the Sigmas. I won't go into detail about what was discussed, but let's just say he's interested in what exactly led you and us to end Abrams' life (or attempt to, at any rate). From what I'm given to understand, he's already asked you about it before and you denied him - which we're grateful for, considering what that resulted in.
Now, we want to share the files with him. Specifically, we want you to do it. Clearly there's some bad blood between you and Ridgenose over that incident, and we believe it'd be in everyone's best interest if that bad blood was cleaned up. I have a feeling that you letting the man into your secret might contribute towards that. So, you forward the data to Ridgenose, we grant him access to the files.
Sound good?
- Emissary
PS.
Has the second batch of supplements been delivered?
Very good. Ridgenose has been granted access to the files. You may forward them to him. Again, inform him that any tampering or unauthorized proliferation will result in the data being wiped.
As for the diet, we have our fair share of experience with what eating nothing but paste for months on end can do to a digestive tract. We're just looking out for our allies.
I understand, and to be clear it's very thoughtful and even sweet of you.
But I think I really could live without the persistent messages asking about my recent bowel movements. I mean no offense, it's just awkward waking up to see that in the inbox.
It took a little longer than expected, but our man finally dropped off the promised delivery. Crates of only the finest gear, ammunition, weapons, explosives, et cetera. A few newly devised MREs, too, that the folks back home would like your people to test. Don't ask me why they won't let us do that instead. They guarantee they're safe to eat.
You'll also find a box has been dropped off at your office door. You'll further find that it has several holes for ventilation. You may even find yourself tempted to take the lid off and peek inside to see what's make the scratching noises.
It's perfectly safe to keep, I'm told. I hope you enjoy.
According to one of our xenobiology experts, it's a blue-tounged plateback - native to Gaia, omniverous, diurnal, relatively tame. Solemn says it covered every surface in his cargo bay with saliva, or whatever alien equivalent to saliva it produces. You may want to look out for that. As for where it was found, Solemn picked it up somewhere on his travels. He didn't specify where, when, or how, but assured me that it didn't involve abducting it from Planet Gaia.
And no, it's not a test of any sort. Section 8 just isn't exactly equipped or willing to keep an alien lifeform as a pet. So I figured it may as well be best off with you and your people. You do like taking in strays, after all.
