LIMITATIONS & RESTRICTIONS:
The purpose, intent, and nature of the project are classified.
Any and all information gathered from the project is to be considered top secret until further review by the Directorate, with access permitted only to personnel possessing SNOWBLIND clearances.
Information may be shared with personnel on a strict need-to-know basis.
Unauthorised readers may be sterilized via memory amendment or termination with clear Directorate authorisation only.
Use of LENS-α is almost certain to attract the attention of psi-attuned entities within an unknown range. As such, use of LENS-α must be kept to a minimum and should be performed in locations that are both secure and isolated.
All personnel assigned to use of LENS-α are to receive psychological analyses within 26 hours of LENS-α use. Failure to comply may be met with administration of amnestics, if necessary including Class Z-X1 amnestics.
HYPOTHESIS:
Subjects placed within the confines of LENS-α will undergo various effects.
These effects are mostly nonphysical, acausal, and psychospiritual; in other words, purely perceptual.
These effects objectively exist and can be measured.
These effects can be recorded via use of inversely-modulated holotainment bands (hereafter referred to as ADYTA).
Data thus gathered can be transposed onto normative holotainment bands (hereafter referred to as TEXTUA) and experienced by others who have not entered LENS-α.
This procedure (hereafter referred to as SCRIBE) can be used to collect data which would otherwise be inaccessible via conventional means.
VARIABLES:
Subjects who are aware of the nature of the experiment may experience SCRIBE differently.
Subjects with varying levels of inborn psionic potential may experience SCRIBE differently.
Subjects with varying levels of cultivated psionic potential may experience SCRIBE differently.
Subjects who have been "marked" by XB-SNT may experience SCRIBE differently.
Subjects who possess neural augmentations may experience SCRIBE differently.
The normative spatial location of LENS-α may affect the SCRIBE procedure.
TEST GROUPS:
ALPHA subjects must possess zero information about XB-SNT; must be evaluated as having low inborn/cultivated psionic potential; must be "unmarked"; must possess no neural augmentations.
BETA subjects must meet all the same criteria as CONTROL-α subjects, but may possess neural augmentations.
GAMMA subjects must not be "marked" by XB-SNT.
DELTA subjects must be "marked" by XB-SNT and have at least basic psionic competence.
ZETA subjects are all those that do not fall into the above groups.
Also known as a Kozyrev Mirror, LENS-α is a spiral-shaped device comprised of aluminium alloy 7065; exactly 0.5mm thick, 280cm high, 120cm wide, with ground surface and curvature providing for focus at a distance of 50cm from the operating surface. Error tolerances are extremely low to ensure maximum efficacy of the device. It may optionally be mounted on a motorized platform allowing for rotation of a load of approximately 300kg at exactly 0.75 horsepower. The mirror itself weighs nowhere near this amount; the power of the motor is simply to account for any possible fluctuations in weight during the course of experimentation. Rotation of LENS-α, its internal fields, and its occupant may potentially enhance the potency of interior phenomena.
The fundamental idea behind LENS-α is that time is a physical field much like electromagnetism, and that the local density of this field can be manipulated via mundane physical means. Recovered logs of ancient experiments with Kozyrev Mirrors seem to support this hypothesis; test subjects (who simply entered the interior of the mirror) reported interactions with entities that appeared to manipulate and traverse time in a mundane dimensional fashion similar to how we move and orient ourselves in 3D space. These entities were occasionally helpful or altruistic, offering warnings of impending disasters or providing enigmatic advice relative to the personal lives of the subjects, but were more often hostile or abstractly threatening/foreboding. Other test subjects reported accurate perception of geospatially distant locales they had never visited and had no knowledge of; sometimes these locales were distant temporally as well. The implications of this for the manipulation of the T-field are complex.
All of the above contributes to an eccentric profile of LENS-α phenomena. In our present circumstances, the most relevant aspect of this information is the seeming indication that the T-field is intimately linked to the C-field (consciousness itself taken as a similarly physical and manipulable field-entity). This has potentially profound effects for psionic and parapsychological processes, potentially including the means by which XB-SNTs track and locate certain entities (colloquially referred to as "being marked"). Likewise, parapsychological illnesses such as Revenant's "mindstorms" may be able to be better understood if further knowledge of the physical rules governing the C- and T-fields can be obtained.
On the whole, LENS-α provides a unique opportunity to increase the local density of both time and consciousness within a confined space, allowing those who enter this space to reliably establish psychic contact with spatiotemporally distant entities and expand their awareness beyond what was previously thought physically possible, through a process which may in fact be entirely physical, mundane, measurable, replicable, and in no way anomalous.
The implications of this technology extend far beyond the ongoing Final Journey case; proper application may hold the potential to eventually revolutionize our understanding of life and matter as a whole. However, at the moment, Project SNOWBLIND is focused on the utilization of LENS-α's properties to gain actionable advantage in regards to the matters at hand in the Final Journey case, with further development in the fields of intelligence collection and psychomedical technology as far-distant secondary priorities.
The critical component of consumer-market holotainment bands are bioneural processors (BNPs), which operate on an organic fuzzy-logic system roughly analogous to a hypothetical trinary encoding scheme. This enables the bands to interface directly with the human brain and fully immerse the consumer in a preprogrammed experience, giving the subjective impression of receiving sensory data. These BNPs can be reprogrammed to function in reverse, transcribing information from a subject's experience (both physical/external and mental/internal) to be experienced at a later date. These inverse-modulated holotainment bands are hereby called ADYTA (singular ADYTUM) and will be a critical component of objectively categorizing data gathered during the course of the Project.
TEXTUA (singular TEXTUM) are consumer-grade BNPs that have had data from ADYTA encoded into them, which will allow experiment conductors and observers to fully perceive the experiences of subjects who have been exposed to LENS-α's effects. TEXTUA are highly classified and are to be stored in secure facilities, with access given exclusively to authorised personnel. The danger of even a single TEXTUM falling into the hands of unauthorised personnel cannot be overstated here.
