So I came up with this idea for a new kind of equipment that would take up the space for a armor upgrade (Meaning, if you equip this thing, you can't equip an armor upgrade).
The piece of equipment I had in mind for adding to the next mod version would be called something like "Cargo Space Enhancement." What would it do you ask? Well I shall tell you. What this does is that it multiplies your cargo space by 1.5, but reduces armor by 50%.
How is this accomplished in a reasonable RP way? "A ship equipped with a Cargo space enhancement has had some of it's hull and armor plating removed in order to make room for as much cargo as possible. Multiplies base cargo space by 1.5, but reduces base armor value by 50%."
For example, lets say we have a ship with 1,000 cargo space and 20,000 armor. With the Cargo space enhancement, the ship now has 1,500 cargo space, but has only 10,000 armor.
I'm not sure whether we need mk I, mk II, etc.. versions of this piece of equipment, or to just have the one kind that i have proposed. I am leaning towards only having one kind of Cargo space enhancement, but it's ultimately up to the community and Igiss.
This sounds like a pretty good idea but i think that 1,5 is too much.
An adv. train has 5000 cargo and with that upgrade it would have 7500 cargo.
It will be abused. Should be maybe only 1,2 but you still lose 50% of your hull.
That's quite enough or not?
I like that idea

Discuss and comment (or reject) as necessary..
Well with this people would maybe be more will to RP trade than power trade and it makes the same $ or compensates for the same amount of time.
Perharps for certain ships like the adv train it can add on another section. Dunno if that can be done.
Edit: I read the part about armoer trade off. but still.
Nice idea but i don't think its possible to be done. Although i could be wrong, my main strength is in different parts of the coding. Could be possible with FLhook or similar. But it might need source code access.
If it can be done then i give it a big YUS if not its a shame.
