Hi all, not a returning Disco vet but a vet none the less. I started playing FL vanilla in 2003, SP then MP, gave up for a few years (very busy) found Crossfire many years ago and played there for a few years. Now nostalgia drives me back, to discover a whole new universe here! Hope to bump unto you all on the server.

Just spotted your "Veteran Aid" program - I presume this is for Discovery Vets only? My 20 years of history with the game in general counts for nothing? (Except maybe a slight edge in a fight with another newbie)

First of all welcome to Discovery!
Second, i'm not sure you will be eligible but you can apply and see. If not i suggest you try the /showrestarts command ingame and see what factions you can start from.

Well, just a wee update to my beginner status. Things went way beyond expectations on the first day and I ended up with a Pirate transport (Bullpup) and trading very happily. Day 2 brought the Update and adjustments must be made! Trading is not going to be nearly as easy, I can see that. In despair I tried to install Freelancer Companion to help me find my way. Doesn't work cos I can't find the installation folder to point it to. When installing Discovery I tried to follow the instruction not to install it in the same directory as vanilla but the install wouldn't work unless I DID install to the same directory. Any hints on how I can fix this?
