You should increase the price on the Synth/Kishiro side too. It's way easier to pop a trader as a FA, Hog or Samura. Plus, encourage some combat battles. Playing cat and mouse can get pretty stale.
I don't know if this is too much to ask but can there be a temporary line for Synth/Kishiro ships to engage Hogosha? It gets pretty stale to be unable to engage the gunboat that's obviously sitting on a lane waiting for traders until its friends show up and 2/3v1 you. I think this would kinda be fine, since it would have the same inrp consequences if KNF are around.
[03.07.2024] LNS-Beast***: we can do this every day but you have to buy bigger stronger ships...and i'll help you
I think the line "Synth Foods and Kishiro will receive $50,000 bounty rewards for kills on Farmer's Alliance, Hogosha and Samura ships in Event Systems." should already imply such thing. I've had some confusion about that, though given how frequent these encounters are, I would be sure that escorts should engage the Hogosha if they are about to shoot the trader(s).
Since the incentive for piracy in the event is 200K / Blue
Considering:
1. Traders use 1 ship to haul as to qualify for whatever award is at the end of the event
2. Pirates can and are using multiple ships scattered over the route and are more numerous
3. If a trader get killed in New Tokyo or Stuttgart they can't enter the system for 1 hour due to PVP dead which results in 1 less active person in the event
4. Current battles between escorts + house lawfuls and pirates take 10-15 minutes (snubs) up to 30-40 mins (GBs or more) - cause balance with core regen, weapon damage, different topic. This is taxing on the players, as one escort said: "How many times do I have to kill this guy!"
Suggestions:
4. Make New Tokyo and Stuttgart (start and restart systems) safe for traders thus
> 4.1 Any trader engaged by pirates that jumps in, is safe from piracy and can resume trading via a different route, thus remaining in the event and generating activity
> 4.2 It will force pirates to be inventive and actually use the chokepoints set in the event or group up
Future events suggestion
4.3 Limit and have open registry for the event to 1 Trader and 1 Pirate ship / account, even during the event
This can be done via a rename with a tag and by purchasing a valid event ID from red station (Or a new station) in Conn. This name tag and ID & IFF should be forced and unremovable from the ships once purchased until the end of the event.
If all participants in the event are registered, with name tag clearly showing and IFF/ ID, there will be less pressure on both sides (Players and Admins), a clear activity tracker and balance tracker, less admin work during the event and after sorting the complaints.
Currently and in previous events, if pirates died in a system, they would log ships in other systems and they would return to attack the convoy or the trader. This would generate grievances and work for admins. Registration would reduce that or make it visible and offenders easier to track.
Also, there is the issue of 3rd parties getting involved in the event, i.e. DTR raid on New Tokyo friday night when the entire convoy got to meet Murmillos and Tribunuses. Now, a GB with a bomber pirating within event lines is fine, but an armada coming for transport ships is lol kek cheap wins. If they are within ZOI and come to pirate, let them say so and demand the credits, as per server rules. Them in group with FA ships destroying the convoy is a bit too much - cause protecting allies under ID rules.
4.4 All other players getting involved in the event should comply to the server rules - engage in regular piracy - or just join the event via registration.
4.5 Remove "If in group I can defend allies if we are neutral or allied factions " rule for the ships in the event and other IDs that are not participating.
4.6 Reduce PVP dead timer for participants to 30 minutes - more activity.
Lol, if it ain't broke don't fix it - this is the most successful event in a long time in terms of numbers, on these relatively unpopular factions too!

Where does it say you only need to use one ship ? Afaik it was tallied between multiple in the last event ?

Where's the proof of the traders being outnumbered? Yesterday I was in a convoy with 12+ people while there were no pirates in sight.

So, make an escort on the other side and help defend ? Or switch to the unlawful side? There's plenty of other systems the event is taking place.

Maybe it's the traders that need to be inventive and group up?
If it's within the rules and reasonable RP I don't see why outside factions couldn't get involved. Yeah, DTR showing up with an Armada is cringe, but it's just DTR doing DTR things
The post above is not a complaint post. If the only things you see are complaints, you're better off somewhere else.
This is an analysis of the event so far and its most likely outcome.
P.S.
- I played the event so far, I was part of the 12+ convoy.
- The post is related to the update to the event - 1.5M credits for the full route and 200K bonus for Trader blues.
- Possible balances and improvements to future events to make things easier and transparent for both the staff and players.
