-Born on Houston
-Mel’s father (Dusty) was press ganged into becoming slave labor (imprisoned workforce) on the LPI Huntsville when she was very young
-Dusty served his time and was released, but was actually too useful to LPI, becoming a foreman who greatly increased productivity on the production line of the Huntsville. So he was arrested again on false charges and sent back to “The Wall”
-Dusty broke out with Kelvin, and they joined the Junker Marauders to start sticking it to the Liberty police. It is unknown exactly how he died, but he died before Mel turned 18
-Because of her youth, Mel is extremely passionate, but does not exhibit a lot of forethought in her actions, which often gets her into trouble
-Joined Xenos as soon as she became an adult and was assigned to be Gavin “Gunner” Wralls’ wingman, who in turn only fueled her penchant for violent and reckless behavior
-She slowly began to realize the error of the Xeno way of life, which culminated in the destruction of the Rheinland Federalist refugee ship: Das Moselle
-She joined her father’s old friend, Kelvin, on Beaumont and became a Junker from 827 to 833
-In 833 she was formally inducted into MacRory’s Irregulars
-In 834, after Lachlan MacRory had to step away to focus on other obligations on Planet New London, Mel was promoted to Coordinator of MacRory's Irregulars
-Ships:
-(Later “Berhtoald-Travers” after being adopted by Mel)
-Born on Planet Hamburg to wealthy parents
-Her father was an executive for Republican Shipping, but he was also a staunch Federalist, and was heavily persecuted by his peers when the company sided with the new Rheinland empire and rebranded as “Imperial Shipping.”
-Her family fled Rhein space in “Das Moselle,” but the ship was already a wreck when it disembarked
-Caught by Xenos in the Hudson system, “Das Moselle” was destroyed by Gunner, with Ida being the only survivor - an event that Mel Travers was witness to
-After being taken in by a guilt-ridden Mel, Ida learned the ways of being a Junker, spending most of her time aboard Beaumont Base or (much more frequently) Mel’s ship, the “Cadillac Ranch”
-Like her foster-mother, she is brash and hard-headed. But Ida possesses a level of guile and forward thinking that Mel does not possess.
-Although Mel would never admit this to anyone, Ida is also better with a welder and tools than her foster-mother as well
-Born on Thames Outpost to the de Vaux family, his parents and uncles joined the call to revolution with the rest of the Mollys
-After seeing so much bloodshed, Declan wanted no part in war, and changed his name to “Vance” to avoid any association with the de Vaux clan, and as to avoid pursuit and reprisal by Bretonian navy and police
-He placed himself in exile with the Junkers, and was a major part of their pursuit of freedom in the Puerto Rico system before the jump hole collapse
-After the collapse, he moved further from settled society, settling into a quiet life on Bornholm Depot in Omega-55
-His quiet self-imposed exile was interrupted by Mel, who he saved from burning up in Omega-55’s twin suns in 831
-For the past three years now he has been Mel’s first mate aboard the “Cadillac Ranch,” but that has brought him back in contact with the Mollys
-He feels the need to atone for his past cowardice, and now feels the call…to revolution
-Ships:
-Born on Planet Pittsburg to a family of miners, he then spent his youth and majority of his twenties working in the Baltimore Shipyards
-Kelvin is the head technician, shipwright, and welder on Beaumont Base, which in turn makes him the de facto leader of Beaumont itself in all but name
-Knows more about salvage, ships, and junkin’ than the average Junker could learn in three lifetimes
-Was locked up in the LPI Huntsville for stealing ship parts from the Baltimore factory line
-Was the main instigator (along with Dusty Travers) of the Huntsville prison break in 815, which greatly increased the populations of the Xenos, Junkers, and Liberty Rogues operating in the Texas System
-After Dusty’s death in the wake of the prison break, Kelvin cooled off his more dangerous and overtly criminal behaviors, settling into his leadership position aboard Beaumont
-Slow and steady in demeanor, Kelvin has proven to be a solid third party when helping various groups of Junkers resolve conflicts (especially the Marauders and Junker Congress)
-Kelvin truly believes that neutrality is the best policy, particularly when it comes to business. This is a virtue that he has tried his best to instill in his best friend’s daughter, Mellony
-Not one to hold a grudge, he is often seen in an affable mood wandering around, helping the population of Beaumont maintain their home
-But all Junkers know not to cross Kelvin
-Ships:
-Born on Planet Manhattan to a boring middle class Libertonian family, from a young age, Gunner was familiar with blood
-While walking through the city of New Manhattan with his father as a child, a piece of scaffolding fell from a building that was under construction and crushed Gunner’s leg. Instead of screaming or crying, Gunner was only fascinated by the pain and blood coming from his own body
-After having his leg surgically repaired and being sent home, Gunner tried to pull out the stitches to examine his wound more closely. His horrified parents, realizing there was something wrong with their son, sent him to a reform school
-Reform school did little to change Gunner’s criminality and fascination with violence
-He was locked up at only 17 and sent to the LPI Huntsville (something that almost never happens to minors, despite the Huntsville’s fearsome reputation)
-Only four months later, Gunner was one of the inmates that escaped the Huntsville during Kelvin and Dusty’s massive prison break
-He has been a constant fixture of Barrow Base in Hudson ever since
-In the sick arithmetic of the universe, Gunner was born only a week after Mel. Neither of them are aware of this
-Ships:
-Born on Planet Erie into the community of Zoners that settled the planet, Robert grew up seeing the Liberty forces slowly strip the local Zoners of their freedoms little bit by little bit as he grew up
-Instead of being perturbed by this, he saw the Liberty Armed Forces as keepers of the peace. And more than that, as the true power in the Liberty systems, since they were so easily able to take control of Erie and the Pennsylvania system away from people like his parents and the Zoners that raised him
-He signed up to join the Liberty Police as soon as he completed his basic education on Erie, and was shipped off to Denver’s Police Academy
-He earned himself distinguished marks for bravery after graduation for helping deal with the various Xeno threats in the Colorado system, and was recommended for the incredibly rare honor of studying at West Point in the New York system. A privilege that few members of the LPI receive
-Robert was eventually stationed as the head security officer on the LPI Huntsville from 805 to 813.
-He was the man responsible for arresting Dusty Travers the second time
-Robert was eventually promoted for his tight and thorough management of the Huntsville and moved to the Liberty Navy as a commissioned officer before the Huntsville prison break in 815
-One of the most highly decorated officers currently serving in the Liberty Navy, he has declined promotions to Captain, as that would move him further away from the front line of serving in the military
-He much prefers to be hands on, and serve closely with the service men and women under his command
-Currently serves as the commanding officer of the Defiant-class LNS Van Buran
-Born on New London to parents that fled the Corsair Empire
-Nadia grew up in the impoverished industrial district of Hackney on Planet New London
-Had a healthy and loving home-life with both parents, but experienced extreme poverty from a young age
-To help her parents make a living, she began picking pockets
-Eventually found the Irregulars' first smuggling warehouse and tried to rob Lachlan, but got caught
-Lachlan, always quick to spot a hard worker, asked if she wanted a job instead of turning her over to the authorities, and Nadia has been working for the Irregulars ever since
-Kind-hearted to a fault, she is often ill-suited to the trials and cruelty of deep space
-She has taken a shine to helping Mel raise Ida aboard The Cadillac Ranch, and has even begun teaching Ida Spanish
-Efficiently second in-command of the Ranch, and maintains the ship's navigation systems
