Biography
Ryker Günther König was born to a lower-middle class family on Planet Stuttgart. His upbringing was in an area regularly targeted by LWB campaigns, and his parents were known to have worked for Synth Foods, so it is assumed that his upbringing was was tumultuous. Little records of him exist before his time in the Rheinland Military, and he often declines to comment on his early life. When he does eventually speak on the topic, it's generally short and without detail.
His enlistment to the Military saw him joining the infantry as part of a boarding-party team. He was known as an efficient tactician and an effective marksman during the early years of his service, but during the war with Liberty in 812 A.S., he would come under command of a full unit of boarding marines, and from there he would become a local celebrity. He would garner a number of feats, among which the survival of a Defiant engine meltdown, the rescue of an isolated marine unit, and the pinnacle of his career as an infantry, his temporary stranding in an EVA suit which was alleviated with a hijacking of a Patriot by being tractored in as a suspected escape pod and co-opting of it's radio systems, these feats of which coupled with his quiet and unshakable attitude would gain him the nickname "Der Hauptcharakter" from his rightfully impressed comrades.
Before the War with Kusari, Ryker would be admitted to training as a pilot. His first sortie as a pilot was near the closing of the war, and resulted in a successful defense around the trade lane networks against GMG fighters in Frankfurt. Shortly after the outbreak of the Civil War in 827, the Imperial Coup saw, alongside other things, the Imperial forces taking control of Planet Stuttgart. Resulting surface violence, especially surrounding Synth Foods and their workers, led to his parents murder. This act led to him and his Valkyrie siding with the Federalist forces, bringing him under the command of an MND wing assigned to Carrier Saar. His service accomplishments as a pilot are far less impressive than as an infantry, but nonetheless he contributed. He gained another nickname then, this time from the Imperial forces, as his habit of circling a battlefield from a distance before choosing a target and attacking ruthlessly reminded them of a eagle circling prey, so they began calling him "Bundesadler". After the Reunification, he was largely overlooked as simply a part of the Saar unit, flying as an MND pilot despite being there more as a consequence of fate than as a true MND pilot.
In 833 A.S. he was finally questioned about his position, loyalties, and affiliation, which led to his application and recruitment into the BDM. He passed physical and situational aptitude tests with flying colors, and he takes to new training like a fish to water. His training in interrogation and infiltration, especially regarding "acting the part", progressed more rapidly than previously thought possible, prompting an investigation into what prior information on protocol he had, and after that returned largely normal, an investigation on his psychological score. This is what led to his diagnosis with Antisocial Personality Disorder, more commonly known as Psychopathy, which was determined to not only be not a detriment to performance, but also to largely explain his previous actions and accomplishments, with effects like lack of empathy and remorse, reduced ability to distinguish right and wrong, and disregard for safety and responsibility. His training for the Büro der Marinenachrichtendienst is expected to continue unhindered.
