We cant just all crap Sanction reports, otherwise the server would be a giant witch hunt.
The server is a giant witch hunt. Why do you think trials are secret, the accused is not allowed to view the evidence, the verdict is reached without the accused being able to defend himself, and there is no path for an appeal?
Why do you think admins are being stacked with faction leaders?
I'll be the first to admit most sanctions are straightforward, cussing, modding, etc...
It's that 5% or so that aren't straightforward where the biases are allowed, where the deck is stacked depending on who you are rather than the rules and the evidence.

Wouldn't that mean that the server is really just a small witch hunt?
I mean, 5% witch hunt isn't all that much. Per volume. Heck, I doubt that it'd even float. Probably wouldn't even weigh as much as a duck!
That being said, unless your various ravings are underlined with links and testimony rather than the foamy spittle from your hollering pie hole I'd say you're coming off strongly as more like this than this.
' Wrote:Akumabito - Not all sanctions are based on lies. Granted only 1 report I submitted has ever resulted in a sanction but there was no arguing about it, the guy cussed in open system chat.
As towards sanctions, what I would LOVE to see happen is a reply from the admins to the poster if a sanction is turned down and exactly why. This would give feedback to the poster and maybe some viewpoint that he was unaware of that would explain why the action was not a violation. Otherwise, the only thing that a poster can speculate is that the report that he filed was ignored and that leads to the belief that the admins show bias towards certain people. That NEVER ends well for either side.
Maybe add a couple of steps to the sanction process.
Admin group receives the report.
Assign a particular admin as a contact person for the report.
Specified admin send acknowledgement that the case is being reviewed to the poster.
After 2 weeks of deliberation either a sanction is granted or a reply to the poster is sent explaining where the poster was mistaken on his interpretation or intent of the rule in question.
This will strenghten the relationship between the players and the admins.
Its better to be told you were wrong about a rule, then to think that either the admins dont care or are protecting someone.

You occationally hit good points but no one wants to back some one who sprays and prays. Tone the hate down and practice tact for better results.
I find myself agreeing some times then repeled and shocked away by some of the un needed cheap shots that seem to serve no other purpose than to exspess angre and to verbally injure folks.
Less venom more substance and, your good points might get the attention deserved.

This may be the funniest thing I have read all week.

I'm not asking anyone to back me, but you are mistaken that this is hate speech, it's simply a commentary on how poorly the admin staff moderates the server.
I think we all have seen sanctions that seemed over the top as well as know of reported violations that go unpunished, and we all can see how varied the sanctions are for similar offenses. It's a corrupt system and the server deserves better than what it has.
I guess we need to see if the new admins are drawn down to the existing level, or if they keep their sense of fairness intact. Seeing as how they are almost all faction leaders I don't think independents will be treated any better.
Hold on a tic. Two people suggest that you back up your points with something resembling anything but random hand wringing and transparent fury concerning your own sanction and you reply with more hand wringing rather transparent fury concerning your own sanction?
If you want to see something accomplished you need to present your issue in something vaguely resembling constructive criticism. That you garner little save the disdain of your fellows isn't based on some madhat conspiracy to ruin your internet spaceship game experience, it's based on you conducting yourself as a ranting malcontent who poisons every point that he brings to the table, valid or not.
Take a step back, take off the crazy hat and address your concerns in a manner conducive to healthy debate and consideration.
Though do so in a new thread; as the issues that were brought up for discussion were long ago resolved before you decided it was time to fling the corrupt admin poo about to see how well it stuck.
' Wrote:Hold on a tic. Two people suggest that you back up your points
Come on dusty, you know the truth, nothing needs to be backed up. Sanctions are run like a witch trial from behind a wall of secrecy for a reason and as long as the admins are willing to put clans above truth you want it to continue this way, so don't pretend otherwise.
Healthy debate has nothing to do with the current corrupt sanction process.

*chuckles* So not only do you not have anything to prop up your mumblings, but I myself am now an instrument of this apparently corrupted system?
Good show sir. I expect to see a reply where a small segment of my post is taken out of context, you claim a rather sad nonexistent victory followed by a couple of lines including the words factions and admins.
Lastly, this thread has run its course. If you've something to say about the state of the sanction system I would advise you again to start a new thread. The issue of the tag/id sanction has long since been put to rest, this derail serves no purpose.
Edit: One moment, I'm going to try to make a haiku out of that last bit.
The thread is kaput
