Raising PoB shields to prevent docking does not require an active siege declaration.
okey you CD the pob and you enable the shield on it and any trader is not able to dock thats nice.... CD any non player base? do you prevent people from docking?
EDIT:Explain to me since I might be ignorant if you are not police ID in house space to use a ''nodock command'' tell me how do you prevent people from docking? Maybe there is something about the game I dont know

Shooting POBs to raise their shields is allowed without any siege declaration. Only actually dealing damage via usage of siege weaponry without an active siege declaration is against the rules.

NPC bases are, at least in theory, placed a certain way to facilitate certain gameplay. Devs have no way of reasonably controlling the placement of PoBs, and as such cannot control the disruption to system dynamics a player-made docking point would have. So, instead of having draconian PoB placement rules, triggering a base shield to stop people from docking serves as a good compromise.
Sounds great to me, lets just accept the compromise and just ignore any other type of problems there might be present, just push them under the carpet for fast and efficient resolution.
5.0. was a big turn point in this server, it made people come back, but if we have learned anything from the history of this community and history in general, if problems are NOT solved, in this case players will start to leave again. New website was made, whoever did that it was awesome and now freelancer has a great page that can stimulate people to come and play. But for a book to be great is not all about its cover, its even about the content, content is lacking at this point (if you get me what I mean) we can put a bandage on our eyes and pretend nothing is wrong, but if we are going to make things work as they should we need to work on it. Metaphoricaly we talked about PoB how you can CD them okey thats a solution for that problem, what about any other?
I can help give advices etc or I may even get banned for what I have wrote already, it would be the same.

kill them before they dock. you can't really prevent people from docking with a NPC base.
maybe flhook could stop players from docking at bases if there's an enemy very close by?
maybe flhook could stop players from docking at bases if there's an enemy very close by? >>> this wont be possible freelancers are for example neutral to everyone more or less except nomads, das wilde, and other 10 factions, game wouldnt be able to know if they are in active combat or not, except if that clausola is implemented.
docking is last of the issue at this point mine was just an example that spaked an unwilling discussion which Im guilty too.
In my opinion it would be more transparent thing to have a list of things to fix, some sectors are empty atm, most of the nice fights are going on in edge systems, there are no more wars for example in house systems (they tried with events smuggling etc), no point in piracy, no point in mining, earhart is only thing thats keeping players busy, trading is almost impossible with this type of economy high risk low yeald, on the other hand casual PVP is doing great but server cannot rely only on PVP, pve missions are not worthy, Npc are restricted after certain player cap. Things are getting very ripetitive and its not good.
Let me tell you a most stupid example ever (game):
Community here il clamed to be around 30k of which only 1000 maybe 2000 players are active throughout the day.
There are games that are not even finished like Star Citizen for example, server are almost always full. Because everything is organised properly even if game is in pre alpha since 2014.
With discovery freelancer we got a gold mine>> you can do and be whatever you want to be, you wanna have nomads dancing in your cockpit you can its enough to RP it properly, there is trading, mining, fighting, invading, building, producing etc etc etc freelancer is full of features that could lure in anyone and let him/her have fun. Why only 10% of players are actually playing because we are using just a fraction of the potential this game has. And those who have played for a while finish to quit playing due to many things being out of order and toxicity inside the community (e.g. Xenon stopped playing cuz Auxo was toxic) Look at activity of official factions except for DTR people are not playing or are playing less, some factions just log cuz of events etc but you cant base whole game just on random events here and there. Lets keep the community alive. That being said I will not post in this thread anymore.
With a last-minute supplier change, the corsairs at Lagos have reached the limit of their stocks, even after purchasing from Madrid at a premium. The Elders agree that the rest of the munitions will have to be acquired from the original sources at Kreuzberg, despite the difficulties of the route. The junkers of Kreuzberg, warned by their comrades at Madrid, have decided to sponsor other sources of munitions in order to avoid unnecessary bloodshed on the docks. Sources have informed the Outcasts that Trafalgar Base has all the equipment they need for a "smashing" good price, as long as they're willing to leave Kreuzberg behind. The administrators of Trafalgar Base, already forewarned by the increasing demand, has been steadily stockpiling weapons for just such an eventuality. They are ready to welcome their new customers with open arms, and burgeoning stocks of freshly imported equipment.
Good change. More balanced paths, no more cruising-only for Corsairs, Theta isn't an issue for Outcasts anymore, no more pesky GMG ruining Sairs' moneymaking operation. FeelsGoodMan
