Listen, I'm calling 'cause I need a favour to capitalize on some good fortune me and mine had on Barrier Gate.
So, look, long story short is we could use a hand getting a dock freed up at Sing-Sing or Madeira, and maybe, depending on how my guys get along, a hand getting a few more difficult components together.
And for the record? I know what I'm asking might sound selfish but, if this actually works out. I'll see what I can do to spread the love 'round. And I can't lie, I'm seeing some serious potential here.
Haven't heard from you since the meeting at Connacht, but you showed up for the cleanup operation near what’s left of my home, so thanks for that—we needed the help with that corporate scrap.
I’m going to trust you on this, Alex, and have Lya clear out a drydock at Singapore. You and your friend will need to hurry, though, as we have a big commission coming up in the shipyard. Whatever your project, don’t forget you can always ask us to help procure materials. And, yeah—good luck.

You're a fucking legend, mate, and you're right. It has been a while, there is a story to the reason I've been so off the grid since Connacht but that's something for another time and place if you're interested in hearing it.
Anyway, we're already on the move to Sing-Sing now. We'll try and vacate the spot real quick like and free it up for whatever big project you've got cooking, which can't lie, has me a bit interested but again, instead of getting distracted should stick to the thing at hand now.
And that would be the fact we managed to get our hands on the blueprints and most of the parts for some real interesting pieces of kit. The first and less interesting being the possibility of sorting the Spirit out with a Mauler mass driver, a piece of kit I'm going to go out on a limb and say needs no introduction.
What might tickle your fancy is the second piece. We're going to try and get an EW-101P Railgun rigged up on the Spirit. Now before I get too ahead of myself, I should say that this will still need to be trialled and tested, but in theory, might help with one of the biggest weaknesses I observed during that mess in Omega-3, which was our anti-gunship capabilities.
Most of our cruisers weren't quite effective against those in particular, and when I look at the theory I'm hearing behind this railgun I think I'm seeing the potential to give those capabilities a significant boost without sacrificing much, if any of our effectiveness against other cruisers or heavier assets that any OPFOR might have in play.
Which, on the topic of material procurement, is one of the bigger issues we have with the railgun. First off, the slugs fired are a dense 20kg mixture of Iridium and Uranium. Not quite materials that are abundant down in the Taus as you know, and secondly we'd like to take this opportunity to fix up some of the plates that took some heavy fire during combat with the Armed Forces and the corporate auxiliaries.
So, in essence, we've got every everything else we need and will probably have the Mauler ready to go in no time, but we certainly won't say no to getting those materials for the railgun and armor a bit sooner.
By my engineers estimates we're gonna' need 2000 units of both Iridium and Uranium to ensure a suitable stockpile of slugs for the Railgun, and around 4000 units of Ablative Armor Plating on the replacing damaged armor sections front.
Naturally, we'll make it worth whoever's doing us this favour's while, to the point we're even gonna' let them name the price themselves. Though between you and me, I'd like to have some of the ships funds leftover to deal with any potential issues down the line.
Regardless though, I owe you a pint already for freeing up this dry dock for us, so cheers again, mate.
Maulers and a goddamn railgun? Quite the connections your friend has to acquire weapons of that caliber. Mind sending those blueprints my way once the Spirit is operational? Better capability against gunboats would be valuable, especially with corporate forces favoring them in their encroachments against us. With Bretonia back in Tau-23, additional firepower might be necessary—I have no intention of letting Java suffer the same fate as Aland.
Now, onto the logistical matters. Uranium won’t be a problem; we’ve got a reliable source relatively close to our operations in the Taus. However, iridium will be trickier. We might consider an open delivery request to expedite the shipment, but ideally, I’d prefer to keep it within the Guild. Regarding the ablative armor plating, there’s already a shipment en route to Singapore, but for the full amount needed for the Spirit, you’ll have to wait for the next one too.
When all of this is over I'm looking forward to that pint.

Yeah, well, turns out when you take a doorkicker out of the field and have him work logistics for a year and change while he's injured. Then when the war is over and you decide to disband his unit and fuck him out of his pension, you wind up setting the stage for a very talented black marketeer. Who coulda' seen that one coming, eh?
But yeah, wanted to get this stuff operational and field trialled ASAP, for those exact reasons. Like I said, if this all works out well, you bet your arse ol' Lynchie will be sharing around the love.
Anyway, unlike you and my friend, I am not a logistics guy, I'm the guy who applies what logi' gives me on target to as much possible effect as I can. Basically, whatever you're thinking on the outsourcing front, you go ahead. Long as you trust 'em, I ain't gonna' be one to bitch if it get's me and my lot what we need.
Good news the delivery is has been made the lads in Singapore will get the Spirit in top shape as soon as possible. To be honest with you the ethically sourced uranium was the most annoying to get but all of the mats are at your disposal. And finally if your friend ever finds himself in need of a employment that won't screw him over you know who to call. Send the cash three million credits to IMG|Monroe.
'Mup, we just received confirmation here on our end.
The Mauler is already online and we just finished up with the first half of the armouring job. Couldn't have timed this one better, lad.
We're going to get cracking on this railgun and once we're back online, it'll be field testing time. With a little luck this railgun will be capable of making a beautiful bang.
And believe if me, if that beautiful bastard ends up wanting a career change, you can bet your bloody arse I'm poaching the fucker.
Thanks again for the assist, Albert, I owe you one as well as that pint now. Give the rest of your guys and gal's my thanks. Especially the single gal's.
