Allow me to introduce myself, I am Jonathan Cayran, member of Phoenix.
One of our employees, Daniel, has informed us of a proposal from your group.
It seems your freelancer group is in need of certain supplies, and in return, you are offering to, shall we say, handle some of our more troublesome neighbors?
If this is the case, please provide detailed information about your requirements and the intended delivery location.
⫸ Good evening, Johnathan of Phoenix. I'm a veteran of Group-58 and one of the so called 'diplomats' holding our pack together. Pardon my surprise when I say that I did not expect we'd make contact so soon. You can simply call me One, by the way. Most of us prefer tip-toeing around people before actually talking. The Omicrons are just that harsh and you never know what's around the corner.
It is true that one of our boys, Six, decided to extend our services to your people. I noticed an increasing amount of your mining ships entering the Tokelau Ice Cloud to collect Iridium and suggested we find the right moment to open channel with you as opposed to coming out in the open so suddenly, but life is full of surprises apparently. Wouldn't you agree?
I will elaborate on what Six offered. And that is assistance against Corsair forces as well as other pirates in the Omicrons in exchange for a steady supply of goods from your people. Food, water, some trinkets here and there as well as ship parts. Credits we could do too, but that's optional and not the main focus. Right now we're looking for crates of munitions, light arms and engines built for Heavy Fighters and Bombers. This partnership lasts as long as we get these goods weekly. If that sounds doable for you then we can talk numbers.
You've got brave people, I must say. There are a lot of dangers in that place, and Hegemons are definitely solid ships, but not solid enough to ward off the local wildlife. Let alone Corsairs, if they start feeling cheeky. It would be a real shame if we had another Freeport 9 incident.
Given the rapidly escalating situation in the Omicrons, I’ve opted to bypass some bureaucracy.
Daniel was particularly persistent in establishing contact, so I deemed it prudent to oblige.
Certain aspects of your request—such as provisions, water, and pharmaceuticals—are feasible. Additionally, we can accommodate the supply of a few civilian-grade engines designed for Heavy Fighters and Bombers.
Regrettably, as for munitions and light arms, current circumstances necessitate their allocation to Livadia and our operations in Theta. Once the situation stabilizes, I’ll work on reallocating some of our supplies to support your group.
Could you clarify the weekly volumes you’re expecting and the preferred delivery location?
⫸ Unfortunate. Weapons and munitions were the two things I was hoping to receive this week. I'm sure everything will work out and you can deliver those sometime next week, I hope?
As for this week's shipment I'm hoping for 1,500 Units of Black Market Pharmaceuticals and a combined 1,500 Units of Food Rations, Water and Oxygen (500x500x500) as well as two OMG-TL-210 engines for both ship classes to accompany this week's delivery. I believe this should be adequate as a starting point for our collaboration.
As a sign of goodwill, some of our pilots have already begun interdicting Corsair convoys carrying Xeno Relics. Today's interdiction has stopped the trade of roughly 5,650 Units of relics.
This week's shipment should be manageable. I'll reach out to you once the supplies have been fully assembled.
As for the convoy interception, that’s truly excellent news you’re sharing with me. If you’re able to send us scans confirming they’re carrying those artifacts before neutralizing them, it would be invaluable. We’re working to chart their flight paths and patterns, particularly those that bring them uncomfortably close to our stations.
One additional matter: should you encounter those corsairs lingering in the iridium mining fields, do not hesitate to deal with them "decisively". They have no regard for our sovereignty, and we, in turn, will not tolerate their feeble charade of posing as miners.
If you manage to accomplish all of this, I’ll ensure something special is arranged for the shipment that follows. Let me know how many weapons you require. I can reclassify some older crates as "damaged" and redirect them to you rather than sending them to the smelter.
⫸ We didn't bother taking cargo manifests from that convoy in particular, but I'll share to my colleagues that they are now necessary. This one instance happened in Omicron Pi, vicinity of Knossos. They did another convoy today in the same system, but it was quickly put down by The Core. Noth-7 was there to participate.
Tokelau Ice Cloud will be locked down and any Corsair forces that we catch will be neutralized with no mercy, as opposed to any other place where we'd at least give them a chance to back off. I'd like to ask your own miners to stick to the shortest route in and out of the Cloud. Scanners don't work well there, so hostiles can be just about under any asteroid. I'd also like to make sure that none of Group-58's pilots damage any of your miners from a misunderstanding. Some of us aren't exactly known for having a well tempered trigger-finger. Noth-5 reminds me of that every single day.
As for the weapons shipment. We'll get there when we get there. I'm hoping you can provide a batch of 'Purple Goddess' in the next shipment.
It is a pleasure doing business with you, Johnathan of Phoenix.
